Panipak Takes Time Off to Support Her Husband Rottan Before His Kickboxing Title Fight in Tokyo
Olympic taekwondo gold medalist Panipak Wongpattanakit took time away from competing in Japan to support kickboxer Rottan Jitrmeuangnon's title fight against Japan's Takeru Segawa at the ONE Samurai event in Tokyo on April 29.
Olympic gold medalist Panipak Wongpattanakit traveled to Tokyo with her husband Ramnarong Sawekwiharee to support fighter Rottan Jitrmeuangnon in his kickboxing title bout against Japan's Takeru Segawa at the ONE Samurai event held at Ariake Arena in Tokyo on April 29. Panipak, a former Thai national taekwondo athlete and current 2024 Paris Olympics gold winner, was in Japan as part of leading young Thai taekwondo athletes competing at the 2026 Osaka Open. During a break from her competition duties, Panipak and her husband traveled to Tokyo to cheer on Rottan as he fought for the interim kickboxing flyweight championship. Panipak posted photos and messages on her personal Facebook account expressing her support, writing that she came to encourage Rottan and would be cheering for him at ringside. Ramnarong met with several people while waiting for Rottan's fight.
