Not This Time! Pu Montri Sets the Record Straight with Teng Therdteing, Sharing His Own Version
Veteran actor Pu Montri Jenuksorn cleared up conflicting details about his first meeting with comedian Teng Therdteing, revealing he hired Teng as a tuk-tuk driver in Sukhothai years ago and predicted the entertainer's eventual stardom.
Veteran actor and voice artist Pu Montri Jenuksorn posted a video with the caption "Montie needs to make a statement 555" responding to Teng Therdteing's account on a radio show with host Nong Chachachat. Teng had recounted meeting Pu Montri when he was driving a tuk-tuk in Sukhothai, but the details didn't match Pu Montri's version, prompting the humorous response.
The exchange revealed the true story: Pu Montri was touring from Chiang Mai through Lampang and Lampun before reaching Sukhothai, where he hired a tuk-tuk driver to show him the city sights. Teng was waiting for customers and singing when Pu Montri approached, and it was Teng who volunteered to give him a ride, not the other way around. Pu Montri was impressed by Teng's beautiful voice throughout the journey and even predicted he would become a star one day—a prophecy that came true.
Pu Montri also clarified he played "Mountain Man," not "Mountain Tiger" (which starred Sorapong Chatree as the lead), and praised Teng's talent and success as a comedian. The post sparked nostalgic comments from fans recalling their collaboration in the popular sitcom "Bomb Therdteing - Bomb Noon Straightway" and requesting more memories from that era.
