A 48-year-old noodle shop employee at Bang Khae Market died after falling from the BTS station at a height of approximately 20 meters. Police suspect problems with informal debt and chronic health conditions contributed to the incident. On May 7, Lak Song Police Station received reports of a person falling from height near Bang Khae BTS station on Petchkasem Soi 62/3 in Bang Khae district, Bangkok. Officers investigated along with forensic doctors from Siriraj Hospital and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation. The body of Somkiat, 48, was discovered lying face-up beneath the station wearing a white t-shirt and denim shorts, with fractures to both legs. Initial investigation found that the victim, who worked at a noodle shop in front of Bang Khae Market, was seen climbing onto the elevated BTS platform before falling to his death. The suspected cause involved chronic illness and problems with informal loans that may have caused psychological stress. Authorities sent the body to Siriraj Hospital's forensic medicine department for autopsy before coordinating with relatives to claim the body for religious ceremonies.
