Military and Police Dismantle Illegal Cross-Border Internet Signal Operation, Raid Mae Sot Home and Seize 11 Pieces of Equipment
Military and police units raided a Mae Sot home on April 30 and seized 11 pieces of equipment used to illegally relay internet signals across the border to Myanmar.
On April 30, 2026, the Royal Thai Armed Forces Special Operations Unit, the 1411 Army Battalion, coordinated with the Technology Crime Suppression Division, Mae Sot Police Station, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission Region 3 and Zone 36, and local administrative officials to conduct a raid on a target house in Moo 3, Tha Sai Luat Subdistrict, Mae Sot District. The search uncovered equipment used to run internet signal cables for relaying signals to a neighboring country (Myanmar), with authorities seizing 11 items of evidence related to the illegal activity. Officers have transferred all seized materials to Mae Sot Police Station investigators for legal proceedings while accelerating their investigation into connected networks. The illegal cross-border internet signal operation may be linked to technology crime networks in border areas, and authorities are intensifying their pursuit and legal action against those involved.
