Rodtung Returns Home to Thailand with Warm Family Welcome – Accepts Defeat, Rules Out Third Fight
Muay Thai champion Rodtung Jitmuangnon returned to Thailand after losing to Takeru Segawa in Japan, telling supporters he accepts defeat and won't pursue a third fight with his rival.
On the evening of April 30, 2025, Rodtung Jitmuangnon, Thailand's beloved Muay Thai champion, arrived back in Thailand following a tough bout against Takeru Segawa at One Samurai 1 in Japan, greeted warmly by his family waiting to welcome him.
Rodtung stated that he needs to let everything settle before starting fresh in the future. Regarding criticism on social media, he said he sees some of it but not all, acknowledging that he understands this fight required him to accept defeat. He emphasized that in sports, there are wins and losses—today he lost, but he may win in the future.
Rodtung further expressed that if everything is okay and sorted out, he still believes in himself, remains hungry for victory, and is ready to serve his country as before, bringing championship titles back to the Thai people. Regarding Takeru, they have exchanged messages, and Rodtung expressed happiness for him, believing it's admirable that his opponent closed his career beautifully and deserves respect. As for a potential third fight, Rodtung doubts it will happen, as he believes Takeru likely won't return to competition given his age and family situation.
