Lottery Winners Celebrate Windfall At Sacred Temple
More than twenty lottery winners gathered at a sacred temple in Chachoengsao province to celebrate their good fortune, lighting 30,000 firecrackers in gratitude after hitting numbers 62 and 001.
More than twenty devotees gathered at Wat Huay Soop in Nammatoom subdistrict, Panasnikhom district, Chachoengsao province on July 1, 2569 to celebrate their lottery wins associated with the temple's sacred Buddha image. They brought garlands, flowers, and firecrackers to offer in gratitude after winning the last two digits (62) with 10 tickets each, and some winners also claimed the three front digits (001) with another 10 tickets.
The temple atmosphere was lively with continuous worshippers bringing offerings. Pa Or, 64, revealed she had regularly visited the temple and witnessed many villagers receive good fortune. This time, her incense divination revealed the number 62, which she purchased as 10 lottery tickets with a vow to light firecrackers if she won. "I've waited so long. I've seen others win many draws. This time it's finally our turn. I'm so happy," she said.
Another winner, Sombbat, won the three front digits (001) with 10 tickets. He had come seeking good fortune but was surprised to win from the front digits instead, which he considered a fortunate coincidence.
After the worship ceremony, the community jointly lit 30,000 firecrackers as a thanksgiving ritual. Following the explosions, villagers identified the trailing numbers as 367 and 15, which they photographed to use for the next lottery draw on July 16. Locals believe the temple's Buddha image is a sacred spiritual protector of the community, and those who make heartfelt vows and receive good fortune are believed obligated to return and make merit accordingly.
