Actress Ning Panita Raises Safety Concerns About Delivery Driver Asking to Tour Her Home

Actress Ning Panita reported that a Grab delivery driver asked to tour her home and appeared to photograph inside it, raising concerns about delivery app security protocols and customer privacy protections.

12 May Khaosod

Actress Ning Panita has raised serious safety concerns about an incident involving a delivery driver from a popular app. She ordered a delivery and received a notification about an expressway toll fee, which she instructed Grab to communicate to her housekeeper. However, when the driver arrived, he engaged in friendly conversation with the housekeeper, complimenting her home and asking if he could come inside to see it. The driver was notably well-dressed, leading the household to believe he might be an acquaintance, which caused them to allow him entry. Security camera footage later revealed the driver appeared to be taking photos or videos inside the home.

Ning emphasized that this incident raises critical questions about whether delivery drivers should have the right to request access to customer homes, whether photographing or filming inside a customer's residence violates company standards, and what privacy protection measures Grab has in place. She clarified that she is not seeking drama or to attack anyone, but rather seeking direct answers to these safety concerns.

When asked why her housekeeper allowed a stranger inside, Ning explained that the driver's polished appearance and friendly conversation made the staff believe he might be someone she knew. By the time Ning arrived home, she was informed by her secretary that a friend had delivered something, only to discover it was the Grab driver.

Ning shared Grab Thailand's response and emphasized that customer safety should not depend on luck, but should be a standard that everyone can trust from the beginning. She is requesting that Grab conduct a thorough investigation and provide urgent clarification on their security and privacy protection standards.

Anti-Narcotics Bureau Meets with South Korea on Job Placement, Establishes Task Force to Dismantle Drug Networks Using Illegal Workers

Thailand and South Korea formed a new task force to dismantle drug trafficking networks that exploit Thai workers, after revealing that over 70% of methamphetamine seized in South Korea was smuggled through Thailand via illegal laborers.

12 May Khaosod

On May 12, 2025, at the Anti-Narcotics Bureau office in Din Daeng, Deputy National Police Chief Suriya Singhakamol, Labor Ministry officials, South Korean representatives, and international drug enforcement coordinators convened to strengthen cooperation against international drug trafficking networks exploiting Thai workers.

The meeting revealed that approximately 100,000 Thai workers are in South Korea, consisting of roughly 34,000 legal workers and over 150,000-160,000 undocumented laborers. In 2567, South Korea seized over 2 million methamphetamine pills and 200 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, with more than 70% smuggled through Thailand. Authorities warned of new tactics where illegal workers use legal workers to open 'dummy accounts' and 'dummy SIM cards' for illegal transactions.

Key measures agreed upon include enhanced drug screening during health checks for E-9 visa applicants, random drug testing at Suvarnabhumi Airport, and intensified pre-departure training. A three-party task force comprising the Anti-Narcotics Bureau, the Labor Ministry, and Immigration Bureau was established to analyze data on overstay visa violators and coordinate with Thai worker networks in South Korea.

Screening intensity will increase at Suvarnabhumi Airport, particularly for routes to South Korea, Japan, and Israel. Violators detected on departure day will have their travel suspended and face immediate criminal prosecution. The Thai government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring all workers traveling to South Korea are drug-free quality personnel, with all measures not affecting E-9 visa approval conditions.

Court Postpones Case: Tom Ratchaneekor Sues Lertsak Hospital for 50 Million Baht Over Botched Surgery – Pin Threatens 100 Million Baht Countersuit

Nonthaburi court postpones verdict in lawsuit by actress Tom Ratchaneekor against Lertsak Hospital over alleged botched surgery to August 2026, with hospital administrator threatening a 100 million baht countersuit if she prevails.

12 May Khaosod

On May 12, 2026, at 9:00 AM, Nonthaburi Provincial Court scheduled a verdict hearing in a case brought by former well-known actress Tom Ratchaneekor (Laphasinant Phandamaneethanakar) against Lertsak Hospital and four other defendants, seeking 50 million baht in damages for alleged surgical malpractice that resulted in facial disfigurement. The court has postponed the verdict hearing to August 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM. The hospital's attorney, Ruekdej Samutkota, revealed that the postponement was due to additional documents submitted by the plaintiff's legal team on April 10 after the case had been closed for arguments. These documents, which included translations of previously submitted evidence, required the court's further review. Although evidence presentation had concluded, the court determined it necessary to adjourn the verdict hearing to consider the new submissions, though this should not impact the final decision.

Pin Pisphatthanin Srichaiyanant, Lertsak Hospital's administrator and owner, stated that if she loses the case, she is prepared to immediately pay the full 50 million baht in cash. However, if she wins, she intends to file a countersuit seeking over 100 million baht in damages, given that the hospital's business has suffered significantly from nearly two years of litigation allegedly caused by the plaintiff's allegations. She noted that the hospital has experienced substantial business losses due to the claims that the initial surgical procedure was performed by the hospital, and she will consult further with her legal team regarding the countersuit.

He encouraged younger artists to carry luk thung music as seeds for transmitting Thailand's invaluable cultural legacy.

Thatchapol Himpan, chairman of the Thai Luk Thung Singers Association, noted that this third year of Thai Luk Thung Music Day aims to set a positive example by uniting national artists, music teachers, singers, and comedians in celebrating their shared heritage.

Ms. Oibhlap Sripirm, Director of Tourism Products at TAT, announced that the authority will organize a "Sustainable Tourism Route Design for Chiang Mai Province" workshop to gather input and foster collaboration among partner networks from all 18 districts of the province.

TAT aims to drive Thailand's tourism industry toward Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs), strengthening the nation's competitive position as a sustainable destination across social, economic, cultural, and environmental dimensions. The authority will develop and add value to tourism products and services in the prototype area through a Sustainable Product Prototype process, while enhancing the quality and capabilities of businesses in the supply chain to meet both national and international sustainability standards.

Chiang Mai was selected for this prototype initiative due to its diverse tourism resources, distinctive Lanna identity, solid infrastructure, and regional connectivity. The province has been recognized by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network for its handicrafts and folk arts, and is developing into a Smart City through international partnerships.

TAT collaborates with partner networks including STGs STAR (Sustainable Tourism Acceleration Rating), the Thailand Tourism Awards, and CF-Hotels (Carbon Footprint Hotels) to establish international standards. The initiative focuses on creating sustainable tourism routes, raising awareness, and marketing them to attract quality-conscious travelers while expanding the prototype model into a new green destination for Thailand.

The workshop attracted 68 representatives from all 18 districts including Mueang, Samoeng, Sankampaeng, Santhisuk, Maeo-on, Kalyanaiwattana, Doisaket, Sarnphi, Omkoi, Maechaem, Chiang Dao, Wianghaeng, Chiangdao, Johmthong, Maerim, Maeai, Maewang, and Maetaeng, along with relevant government agencies.

Participants proposed sustainable tourism products and services based on principles of self-care, environmental respect, and community responsibility. Selection criteria align with Sustainable and Regenerative Tourism concepts, including commercial readiness, connections to major attractions, and offerings that reflect local identity, lifestyle, culture, and wisdom while creating valuable experiences and positive impacts on communities, society, and the environment.

PCV vaccination services are expected to roll out nationwide by the end of 2569.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul received a flu vaccination on May 12, 2569 (2026) at 9:45 AM at Government House before a cabinet meeting, as Health Minister Patana Prommapetch and Ministry of Public Health officials presented the government's public health policy initiatives.

During the exhibition on communicable disease prevention, the Prime Minister was vaccinated and visited booths featuring the PCV pneumococcal vaccine program (described as 'Protecting lungs, ensuring children's health'), the 'Doctor Ready Super App' digital health platform, and demonstrations of hepatitis B and C screening tests.

The government announced that PCV pneumococcal vaccine has been added to the national health insurance benefit package (gold card) for all Thai children following the National Health Security Office's (NHSO) announcement in the Royal Gazette on April 30, 2569. PCV will be provided as a public health benefit to prevent serious diseases including pneumonia and meningitis.

The NHSO is currently procuring vaccines while the Ministry of Public Health prepares healthcare facilities nationwide, including cold chain logistics, staff training, and target population lists, to launch PCV vaccination services nationwide by late 2569.

The Health Ministry's public health policy promotion campaign focuses on three key objectives: upgrading national vaccination standards by integrating PCV into the national immunization program; advancing concrete progress toward eliminating hepatitis B and C; and developing Thailand's digital health system through the 'Doctor Ready Super App' to create seamless healthcare service integration.
