Weather Alert Today: Meteorological Department Warns of Thunderstorms Across 38 Provinces

Thailand's Meteorological Department warns of thunderstorms and strong winds affecting 38 provinces through April 27, with northern regions facing pre-monsoon storms and hail expected April 28 to May 1.

26 Apr Khaosod

The Thai Meteorological Department issued a 24-hour weather forecast on April 27, 2024, warning of thunderstorms and strong winds across 38 provinces, with Bangkok and its vicinity not spared from the impact. Northern Thailand will experience rising temperatures with hot to very hot conditions during daytime, alongside scattered thunderstorms and gusty winds caused by a heat-induced low-pressure system. Southern regions will see localized thunderstorms due to easterly and southeasterly winds affecting the Gulf of Thailand, southern provinces, and the Andaman Sea. The public is advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor activities, and take precautions against thunderstorm hazards and strong winds.

Looking ahead, northern Thailand will face pre-monsoon storms between April 28 and May 1, featuring thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and possible lightning strikes, initially affecting the northeastern, northern, and eastern regions before moving to central Thailand, Bangkok, and surrounding areas. Dust accumulation in northern Thailand remains above acceptable levels due to heat haze concentration exceeding air dispersion capacity, prompting authorities to recommend N95 mask use outdoors.

Detailed regional forecasts show the northern region experiencing hot to very hot conditions with 20% thunderstorm probability; the northeastern region with 30% thunderstorm chance; the central region with 10% thunderstorms and strong gusts; the eastern region with 20% thunderstorm coverage and strong winds; and southern regions with scattered thunderstorms. Temperature ranges vary by region, with highs reaching 34-41°C in northern areas and lows between 21-28°C across regions, accompanied by varying wind speeds and sea conditions.

26 Apr Khaosod

Influencer Bird Vanvangvang has posted a clarification video on his page responding to the Songkran prank controversy, stating "This is ridiculous." In the video, he shows a bag claiming it contains flour, not drugs, and demonstrates by mixing the powder with water and sugar to prove it's edible. Bird defended his actions, saying he has maturity and understanding, and that he was creating content for his career, not causing harm. He apologized for the poor video quality, explaining he wore gloves to make the flour blend smoothly, and emphasized multiple times that the substance was genuinely flour. During the video, he tears open the bag, pours the contents into a glass, adds sugar water, and takes a drink to demonstrate it's safe. Autopsy Results Released: 7-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Water, Police Question Mother Again as She Maintains Son Drowned Accidentally

Autopsy results confirm a 7-year-old boy found dead in an Udon Thani pond likely died from drowning, but police are questioning his mother again after discovering multiple injuries including lacerations around his eyes, ears, and neck.

26 Apr Khaosod

The autopsy results have been released in the case of 7-year-old Nattiwat, who was found dead in a pond near Baan Duang district in Udon Thani province after going missing for several days. The medical examiner concluded the boy "likely died from drowning," though the report detailed ten additional findings including torn lacerations around both eyes, the right ear, neck, and lips, along with bruising on the face and withered, pale hands.

Deputy Superintendent Nattapong Songsom of Baan Duang Police Station has called Nattiwat's mother, Khamnuai, back for additional questioning as investigators consider whether the death was an accident or homicide. The mother maintains her conviction that her son drowned and repeatedly defended her new husband, saying that despite their marriage being less than a year old, he is devoted and loving toward her son, earning money diligently for the family and caring for Nattiwat even more than his biological father would.

Police have conducted a follow-up investigation at the site, with the mother present. She became emotional, kneeling by the pond's edge to pay respects to her son. Regarding suspicions about the orderly placement of shoes at the scene, the mother explained that her son typically arranged his shoes neatly but sometimes threw them carelessly, and frequently wore them on the wrong feet depending on his mood. Rescue personnel measured the pond depth, finding it ranged from approximately 170 centimeters at its deepest points to shallower areas with muddy bottoms. The mother theorized her son may have slipped while trying to catch fish in the deeper section. Police, however, have not ruled out the possibility of foul play and continue their investigation to determine the true cause of death.

7-Year-Old Appears in Rescuer's Dream, Claims He Didn't Drown; Stepfather Responds Heatedly Over Crime Scene Investigation Timing

A 7-year-old boy found dead in a Thai pond allegedly appeared in a rescuer's dream claiming he didn't drown, while his stepfather denied accusations of suspicious behavior at the crime scene. Police are investigating whether the child's dea

26 Apr Khaosod

A 7-year-old boy appeared in a rescue worker's dream, asking for help and saying he did not drown, while pointing at someone. The stepfather strongly disputed accusations about his absence from the crime scene when the body was discovered, maintaining that he only asked about the time of death and does not believe it was murder.

On April 26, 2026, Nattiew, 7 years old, was found dead from drowning in a pond in the middle of a sugarcane field in Nong Kanonsima village, Ban Jan subdistrict, Ban Dung district, Udon Thani province, after disappearing from home for several days. Many people questioned whether the boy's drowning was genuine. Police sent the body for autopsy to determine the true cause of death.

Most recently, Nayapramouan, 44, the stepfather, told media that reports claimed he did not visit the scene because he was taking his wife to the hospital, as she had fainted. While at the hospital, rescue workers informed him they had found the boy. He was relieved and asked the rescuer how they found him. The rescuer replied, "Please don't make me say." He then asked the rescuer not to tell the boy's mother yet.

When asked by reporters if he inquired about the time of death during the ambulance ride, Nayapramouan admitted he did ask, saying he was simply curious about the time of death. He noted the body appeared bloated but had nothing else remarkable. However, he does not suspect murder and only wanted to know the time of death. He questioned why reporters claimed he didn't visit the scene, noting he was at the hospital and couldn't visit the location anyway.

Regarding claims that Nattiew was rude, Nayapramouan said this was true and the villagers confirm it—sometimes the boy spoke well, sometimes not. He said discipline involved only striking the legs, never the head. Regarding Nattiew appearing in the rescuer's dream saying, "Help me, I didn't drown," Nayapramouan said it's unclear, but questioned the motive for killing a child. What would be gained by murder—robbing a child or the child insulting someone? A small child has nothing to steal. If it were murder, why kill such a young child? He believes Nattiew likely wandered far while following a dog and was looking for crabs and fish.

Meanwhile, King, 17, a volunteer rescuer, said he visited the scene yesterday. However, last night he dreamed that the boy told him, "Help me, I didn't drown," while pointing at someone. King said he doesn't know who the person was because he couldn't remember faces in the dream.

Bird Wan Waang Does It Again: Uses Cement Adhesive Instead of Powder at Phra Prathang Songkran Festival, Reveals Serious Health Risks

Content creator Bird Wan Waang applied cement adhesive to Songkran festival participants instead of powder, a dangerous prank that can cause chemical burns, severe eye damage, and permanent vision loss.

26 Apr Khaosod

Bird Wan Waang has made headlines again after pulling a dangerous stunt at Phra Prathang's Songkran festivities. Instead of using traditional powder, the content creator mixed cement adhesive in a container and applied it to unsuspecting festival participants, captioning the video "Is this how they play Songkran powder at Phra Prathang?" In the footage, Bird displayed a package of crocodile-branded cement adhesive, mixed it in a plastic bucket while wearing plastic gloves, then went out to splash the unknown substance on Songkran celebrants.

The "Drama-addict" page subsequently detailed the hazards of cement adhesive, which contains portland cement, silica sand, and additional chemical compounds. When exposed to moisture or water, these ingredients become highly alkaline and can cause severe harm to the human body in multiple ways:

1. Skin Contact: Hazards: Cement in the adhesive extracts moisture from skin, causing dryness, tightness, redness, itching, and irritation. Prolonged contact or exposure to sweaty or wet skin can result in chemical burns, dermatitis, and skin peeling. Solution: Rinse immediately with clean water and soap thoroughly. Avoid scratching affected areas. Seek medical attention if reactions are severe.

2. Eye Exposure (Extremely Dangerous): Hazards: The alkaline cement dust reacts with tear fluid, causing severe irritation, burning sensation, red eyes, and conjunctivitis. Without immediate rinsing, it can cause deep corneal scarring or lead to permanent vision loss.
