An inmate escaping from Thanyaburi District Prison in Pathum Thani with only 23 days left on his sentence has been captured in Chon Buri after voluntarily surrendering through his family. The prisoner fled on May 7 due to domestic problems and concerns about his missing wife, but decided to turn himself in after facing pressure. Authorities apprehended him on May 8 with his cooperation.
An inmate identified as Saeksorn has been captured in Chon Buri Province after escaping from Thanyaburi District Prison in Pathum Thani while participating in a vocational training program outside prison walls. Despite having only 23 days remaining on his sentence, the prisoner fled on May 7. His father suspected the inmate had gone to locate his missing wife, who had left home due to domestic problems.
On May 8, Phitakphong Noiphitaksa, the commander of Thanyaburi District Prison, led coordinated efforts with prison officials, the Department of Corrections, Region 1 Highway Police, and officers from Thanyaburi and Chon Buri police stations to apprehend the escapee. After authorities cordoned off and searched key locations along the escape route and relatives' homes, Saeksorn contacted his family to coordinate his surrender to prison officials at approximately 9:50 p.m. on May 8. He was arrested on Highway 344 in Ban Bueng District, Chon Buri. Officials determined that family problems motivated the escape, as the inmate sought to resolve personal issues before completing his sentence.
