Dashcam Footage Captures Fatal Collision: Motorcyclist Crosses Median, Crashes into Pickup Truck; Man Dies from Broken Neck, Woman Critically Injured
A motorcyclist died from a broken neck after crossing Highway 344's center median and colliding head-on with a pickup truck in Chonburi Province early Friday; his female passenger was critically injured in the crash captured on dashcam.
Dashcam footage has captured the fatal moment when a motorcycle lost control while crossing the center median and collided head-on with a pickup truck, leaving one person critically injured and one dead at the scene.
At 5:00 a.m. on April 24, 2026, Lieutenant Suthipol Glinudom from Muang Chonburi Police Station received a report of a traffic accident with fatalities and injuries on Highway 344 between Chonburi and Ban Bueng in Tambon Nong Ri, Muang District, Chonburi Province. He immediately dispatched officers along with medical personnel from Chonburi Hospital and rescue teams from the Thammarasalamon Foundation.
Authorities found the body of Prasak, age 42, a resident of Surin Province, deceased at the scene with a broken neck, arms, and legs. An unidentified female passenger who was riding behind the deceased also sustained critical injuries with broken limbs.
Nearby, investigators discovered a white and black Yamaha Nuevo motorcycle bearing Samut Prakan license plate 1 กฏ 514, which was heavily damaged and overturned. A short distance away was a white Isuzu pickup truck with Bangkok license plate 1 ฒษ 5011.
When questioned, Ekkachai, 25, the pickup truck driver, stated he was headed to Chanthaburi when the motorcycle suddenly crossed the center median and collided with his vehicle. He said he was unable to brake in time.
Police plan to review dashcam footage and nearby CCTV recordings to determine whether another vehicle struck the motorcycle before it crossed the median and hit the pickup truck, in order to proceed with legal action.
