Coach Jo Theerasak Podeuan, an accomplished football coach, has announced his departure from Khon Kaen United after the team failed to secure promotion to Thailand's top division next season. Under Coach Jo's leadership, Khon Kaen United delivered disappointing results in the BYD Seal 5 Thai League 2 during the 2025-26 season, accumulating 45 points from 11 wins, 12 draws, and 11 losses, finishing seventh on the table just one point behind sixth-place Chainat Hornbill, and ultimately missing out on playoff qualification for Thai League 1 promotion next season. Coach Jo recently posted on his personal Facebook announcing his decision not to renew his contract with the team for the upcoming season, taking responsibility for the team's performance. In his post, he stated: "To the Khon Kaen United family, I want to thank Khon Kaen United for the opportunity to become part of the team in the latter half of the season with the mission and expectation to lead the team toward our promotion goal. Although we may not have reached our intended objective, I'm proud of what we built together—our performance on the pitch, the team's spirit, and the confidence in our dressing room. I want to express gratitude to Chairman Ekrachai, President Watthana, Director Pittaksorn, Director Veerdej, and Director Krachasak, as well as all players, coaching staff from all departments, and Jongjangphayong fans who have given me their support, belief, and affection throughout. What means most to me is not just the match results, but seeing this team grow, become united, and fight with all their heart in every game. Today I've decided to end this journey here and not renew my contract because I couldn't lead the team to the goal I promised from my first day. Although this is not an easy decision, I believe this is the right time. I leave with pride and cherish good memories of this club. Thank you to the fans who love me and wanted me to stay—those feelings mean a lot to me and will always be in my heart. I wish Khon Kaen United success and an early return to Thai League 1. And from today on, I will forever be a Jongjangphayong fan. We shall meet again. With respect, love, and sincere gratitude, Coach Jo Theerasak Podeuan."
