A 53-year-old woman from Huay Raht District bought a 15,000-baht smartphone to register for Thailand Helps Thailand Plus, betting the government will launch more welfare programs. Long lines outside Krung Thai Bank's Buriram branch continue
On May 27, 2025, crowds continued to gather outside Krung Thai Bank's Buriram branch to verify their identities for the Thailand Helps Thailand Plus registration program. Most of these people lacked smartphones needed for online verification, including those registering for the first time or those who forgot their passwords from previous registrations. Bank staff provided periodic explanations of procedures and distributed free drinking water to visitors. Ms. Chueewan Pasutang, 60, shared that she had previously registered but couldn't verify her identity due to a forgotten password, making this her third visit to complete the process. Ms. Wannaporn Paramwech, 53, from Huay Raht District, explained that she hesitated about registering because her old phone wasn't a smartphone capable of identity verification. After consulting with her daughter, she decided to purchase a new 15,000-baht smartphone, believing Prime Minister Anutin's government will introduce more welfare programs like this one.
