Rescue teams discovered an American woman who had fallen from the 11th floor and become caught on a 9th floor balcony with clear tape wrapped around her neck multiple times. Despite CPR efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her boyfriend remained inconsolable and unable to provide a clear account of what happened.
At 2:30 PM on April 25, 2569 (2026), Pol. Lt. Col. Pracha Pholcharoen, deputy investigation officer at Khlong Tan Police Station, responded to a report of a woman who had fallen from height and become lodged on a 9th floor balcony of a residential building in Khlong Tan Nuea subdistrict, Watthana district, Bangkok. Officers immediately arrived with investigation staff and volunteers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation.
At Building B, they found the injured woman lying on the balcony with shallow breathing. Officers moved her into the room and discovered clear tape wrapped multiple times around her neck. After officers quickly removed the tape and attempted CPR, she was ultimately pronounced dead. The deceased was identified as a 34-year-old American citizen who had been residing on the 11th floor.
Officers investigating the room found belongings scattered throughout, empty alcohol bottles lying on the bed, a ceiling light fixture removed, three allergy pills, and a handwritten letter in English. All items were collected as evidence.
Investigation revealed that the deceased had been staying at the location with her boyfriend for a short time. Authorities believe she may have been experiencing stress related to health issues. Her boyfriend has been continuously crying and is unable to provide a coherent statement. Officers will continue investigating to determine the true cause of death and will coordinate with the U.S. Embassy to notify her relatives of her death.
