A man's canned fish review claims the product is authentic with almost no meat inside, leaving netizens divided and forcing him to clarify. He has requested authorities to investigate and emphasized that free sticky rice is included with purchases.
Following growing criticism about canned fish not matching their packaging descriptions, various government agencies have launched inspections covering multiple brands. On May 9, Facebook user Nut Nawakiat posted a video review of a canned sardine product he had purchased. Upon opening, he discovered that the can was nearly full of tomato sauce with minimal fish content, raising questions about whether this was normal.
In the video, he invited an elderly man to review the canned fish, explaining: "Today I'm going to review canned fish. I don't know the brand. Let my father open it fresh, completely unopened with nothing added. It says sardine on it." When opened, the can was found to be almost full of tomato sauce. After pouring it onto a plate, very little fish meat was visible. The elderly reviewer questioned whether there was even any fish at all.
The post generated numerous comments, with some arguing that at that price point, such a quantity was reasonable, while others remained skeptical and accused him of creating fake content. This forced Nut Nawakiat to post a clarification: "I'm explaining about the canned fish video. There's no deception or tricks. I bought two packs from an app store. Authorities can inspect anytime. Free sticky rice is included with purchase."
