'Thaeng' Unfazed by Poll Drop as 'Abhisit' Surges, Insists 'Pheu Thai' Works as a Team, Not Dependent on Individuals, Vows Opposition Will Deliver Results for the People

On May 3, 2569, at Bang Khun Thian district, Nutthapon Ruengpanyawut, Pheu Thai party list MP and party leader, was interviewed about the opposition's recent political poll results showing his popularity declining while Abhisit Vejjajiva, Democrat party list MP and party leader, experienced a surge. He stated he believes Pheu Thai's strength comes from not being fixated on individuals; rather, the party functions as a team—across MPs and Bangkok Metropolitan Council members, supported by various sectors driving collective work. According to the latest Dusit Poll, it's not just a single Pheu Thai representative appearing in the rankings; Ratchanok Srinork, a Pheu Thai party list MP, also features prominently. Looking at the overall party approval scores, he maintains confidence that Pheu Thai remains the most popular political party currently. When asked whether these results would require greater effort, and whether the opposition might be competing against itself given the Democrats' previous strength in government oversight, Nutthapon responded that even if internal competition exists, as long as public benefit remains the primary focus and government oversight remains straightforward and transparent, ultimately the people will be the ones who benefit.

3 May Khaosod

First Kunpan and Khao Tung Thanvat are pulling out all the stops for the upcoming LOVE OUT LOUD FAN FEST 2026: HEART RACE concert with entirely new performances that promise to blow away expectations. The two artists have been rehearsing hard to deliver surprising shows, featuring fresh visuals in their individual segments and an unmissable couple's performance that the pair teases will be incredibly sweet—honey-level sweet, as they playfully describe it.

The artists recently gave candid interviews at the Mom Choice cat food presenter launch event held at Exhibition Halls 5-8 of the Sirikit National Convention Centre. Known as devoted cat lovers, they've become presenters for the cat food brand.

First: "I'm really happy and excited about it." Khao Tung: "It's a great honor that Mom Choice chose both of us as presenters. For anyone who loves cats and keeps them, choosing quality food is obviously important. For me personally, I consider nutritional value, age stage, and the cat's weight."

How far along are you with preparations for the LOVE OUT LOUD FAN FEST 2026: HEART RACE concert?

First: "We're in full rehearsal mode. Whether we're dancing hard? You'll have to wait and see. (smiles) I want to give you a tiny spoiler—there's one performance I personally love. I had imagined it would be rock and cool, but once we entered the rehearsal room, the concept completely changed because multiple people are involved in this show, making it unique in a fresh way."

Khao Tung: "I've already had the chance to watch their rehearsals and I was really impressed. But I can't spoil any more than that—I want everyone to experience it themselves. As for my collaboration segments this year, everyone should see something completely new, and we've all discovered new aspects of our own abilities."

First: "I also got to watch rehearsals for his performances. Some of them might require special attention from the audience. What kind of attention? In terms of... approach. (laughs) Not that I'm jealous or anything, just thinking 'Hey! What are you doing? Can I join in?' (smiles)"

What about your couple's performance? How will it differ from last year?

Khao Tung: "Last year we performed Shoulder Shake, which had a bit of a rap vibe, along with Your Ever. This year will definitely be different. Is it sweet? Incredibly sweet—honey level sweet! (smiles)"

First: "What's different is we've created entirely new music. We took a song we never thought could have this style and mixed and matched it."

Will there be a Feel Fan Fun Party Concert after this?

Khao Tung: "Yes, we're promoting it! After LOL ends, there will be our Feel Fan Fun concert."

First: "For this concert, the setlist is already set in our heads. We're determined to perform what we have planned, but honestly, these are songs everyone should get to sing along with."

Boyfriend arrested over killing of woman in condo in Nonthaburi

A man has been arrested in Chiang Mai for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, whose body was found in a Nonthaburi condominium on May 2, with police tracking him after surveillance showed him fleeing northward.

3 May Khaosod

NONTHABURI — May 3, 2026 — Police have arrested a boyfriend suspected of murdering his girlfriend, whose body was found in a ransacked condominium room in Nonthaburi province.

The victim, identified as Panitsuda Hattadol, 25, an online vendor, was discovered at approximately 19:00 on May 2 in an eighth-storey condominium building. Her body was found beside a bed in a fourth-floor room, with two pillows placed over her head. The room showed clear signs of a struggle, with belongings scattered throughout.

Investigators discovered a diary belonging to her boyfriend, Nittirun Laosuksantisawong, 33, also an online seller, in which he claimed someone was planning to harm him and asked that his cat and property be looked after.

Police in Bang Bua Thong district reported on May 3 that initial forensic findings indicate the death was a homicide. Nittirun, who disappeared following the incident, was identified as the primary suspect. He had left the residence on the evening of April 30 and could not be contacted.

Officers gathered evidence and obtained a court warrant for his arrest on a charge of intentional murder. Surveillance footage showed the suspect fleeing the area, first abandoning a red Mazda 2 with Bangkok license plates in Suphan Buri province before continuing northward by bus.

He was later arrested at Choktawee Smile Hotel, room 515, in the Nong Pa Khrang area of Muang district in Chiang Mai, under a warrant issued by the Nonthaburi Provincial Court (No. 622/2569).

Police believe the suspect fled northward following the killing. Investigators from Provincial Police Region 1 coordinated with Region 5 officers to make the arrest.

Meanwhile, the victim's body has been released to her family. Her mother, Mukda Suksamer, 59, has taken the body to Yasothon province for religious rites.

Authorities said officers from Bang Bua Thong police station are travelling to Chiang Mai to bring the suspect back for further legal proceedings.

Two-seat helicopter crashes near factory in Samut Prakan, two injured

A Guimbal Cabri G2 training helicopter crashed near a factory in Samut Prakan on May 3 after developing a technical fault shortly after takeoff, injuring the pilot and passenger only slightly.

3 May Khaosod

SAMUT PRAKAN — On May 3, 2026, at 09:10, emergency responders were dispatched after a two-seat training helicopter crashed in a wooded area near Soi Bang Mek Khao, Suwit Sai Kao Road, Thai Ban subdistrict, Mueang district.

Initial reports to the Prakan rescue center described an aircraft down near the end of the soi, beside a factory compound. Firefighters, rescue teams and officers from Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station reached the site, which was located in dense brush. Crews had to run hoses through the undergrowth to extinguish flames around the aircraft's engine. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes, and the area was cordoned off for further investigation.

The aircraft was identified as a Guimbal Cabri G2, a light two-seat helicopter. Early checks indicated the pilot and a passenger, reported to be a mechanic, sustained only minor injuries.

Local residents said no one witnessed the moment of impact, learning of the incident only after the crash. The helicopter is believed to be privately owned, with a landing area behind a nearby factory adjacent to the crash site. Police are inspecting the premises as part of the inquiry; media access has not been granted, and no official statement has yet been issued by the operator.

Pol. Capt. Jakkrit Srirotchanakul, superintendent of Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station, said the aircraft had taken off at around 08:30 from a factory in the area, bound for another facility in Chonburi. After climbing to roughly 10 meters, it reportedly developed a technical fault, prompting the pilot to attempt an emergency landing about 30 meters from the lift-off point. During touchdown, the rotor struck tall grass, igniting a fire. Both occupants exited the aircraft safely, with no serious injuries reported.

Preliminary findings suggest insufficient engine power may have led to the emergency landing. The helicopter, in service for around two years, was said to have valid flight documentation.

Rewat Hoonarat, deputy district chief of Mueang Samut Prakan, noted the crash site is within an industrial zone away from residential areas, and no nearby residents were affected. Forensic officers have been called in to examine the scene in detail, while local authorities are assessing damage and gathering evidence for the investigation.

The Guimbal Cabri G2, designed by Bruno Guimbal, a former Eurocopter engineer, is widely used in flight training. It features a composite airframe, glass cockpit avionics such as Garmin G500H TXi, an enclosed tail rotor (Fenestron) for improved safety and noise reduction, and a digital engine governor system. The model is certified under EASA CS-27 and FAR Part 27 standards and has been approved for use in Thailand by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT).

Wife Sues Husband's Mistress, Catches Them Red-Handed with Suspicious Underwear Smell; Hires Private Investigator to Prove the Truth

A Thai wife hired private investigators after noticing an unusual smell on her husband's underwear, suspecting infidelity. The investigation team conducted undercover operations and gathered evidence confirming the husband's affair, which will now be used in a lawsuit against the mistress. The case highlights an unconventional investigative approach based on intimate knowledge of the suspect's personal hygiene.

3 May Khaosod

On May 3, 2025, attorney Hongsa Hatthaya Anteng disclosed details of a case involving a wife suing her husband's mistress, with evidence including the husband's underwear that had an unusual smell. The private investigation team leader recounted how a female client contacted them in early January seeking to hire investigators to gather evidence for an infidelity lawsuit. When questioned about her suspicions, the client explained that she knows her husband's scent very well after years of living together, but recently his underwear smelled different. The investigator initially thought this was insufficient evidence, so he asked for the client to provide clothing samples—both the old and new underwear—for verification. The investigator and team members conducted smell tests to compare the differences between the old and new scents. After confirming the smell discrepancy, they advised the client that evidence of scent alone would be insufficient for a lawsuit, so they launched a full investigation. The team conducted undercover operations, disguising themselves as garbage collectors, fruit vendors, and truck drivers to gather intelligence in the areas frequented by both the husband and his alleged mistress. Through their investigations, they confirmed the husband was indeed having an affair, with witness testimony and additional evidence that was kept confidential. All findings were forwarded to the legal team for court proceedings.

Tragic: 51-Year-Old Man Struck and Killed by Lightning While Fertilizing Field During Thunderstorm

A 51-year-old man was fatally struck by lightning while fertilizing a field during a thunderstorm in Nakhon Ratchasima Province on May 3, marking the area's first such incident.

3 May Khaosod

A 51-year-old worker died after being struck by lightning while fertilizing a field during a thunderstorm on May 3, 2025. Panya Leelakanchanakul, manager of the Sawaeng Witthachathammathan Pak Chong emergency rescue unit in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, reported that they received an alert about a worker struck by lightning in a local field in Pak Chong Subdistrict—an incident that had never occurred in the area before. Rescue units were immediately dispatched along with volunteer staff to assist police officers from Pak Chong Station.

At the scene, a community vegetable field where rain was still falling intermittently, rescuers found 51-year-old Paiwan (surname withheld) unconscious on the ground. He was immediately transported to Pak Chong Nana Hospital but died shortly thereafter.

According to Deputy Sergeant Major Kratchit Pinit, deputy investigator at Pak Chong Station, preliminary information indicated that Paiwan was assisting with fertilizing work on a family relative's field where he was employed, working alongside one colleague. When rain and thunder began, both workers ran for shelter, and a lightning strike caused Paiwan to collapse. His coworker alerted their supervisor and called for help. The official cause of death is pending medical examination results. Authorities are using this as a cautionary reminder that during the current rainy season with thunderstorms and lightning, residents should avoid outdoor areas and standing under trees for protection against severe weather.

Summer Crisis: Kidney Stone Cases Surge; Doctors Warn Office Workers Are Primary Risk Group

Compiled by Soha Online News Team May 3, 2025

According to international reports, intense summer heat is driving a continuous rise in kidney stone cases, particularly among office workers who are becoming the primary victims of this disease.

The warning comes from Dr. Tran Cong The Luong, a urologist at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital at Hanoi National University. He identifies low water consumption as a key factor accelerating kidney stone formation. Office workers in air-conditioned environments often don't feel thirsty, leading to insufficient fluid intake and rapid stone development.

Recently, a 33-year-old office worker required emergency treatment for severe lower back pain. Despite working in a cool, air-conditioned environment, months of consistently low water intake allowed large kidney stones to accumulate in his body undetected. This case serves as an important warning for those neglecting urinary tract health during hot weather.

Doctors explain that summer significantly increases kidney stone risk because the body loses water through perspiration to regulate temperature. As body water decreases, urine becomes more concentrated, causing substances like calcium, oxalate, and uric acid to reach high levels and crystallize into stones more easily.

Office workers are particularly vulnerable since they stay indoors with air conditioning all day, rarely sweat, and don't feel thirsty. Doctors emphasize that even in air-conditioned rooms, the body continuously loses water silently. Waiting to feel thirsty before drinking is a serious misconception, as by then the body may already be dehydrated, forcing the kidneys to work harder.

Beyond low water intake, summer consumption habits are another critical factor. Sugary soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, and excessive red meat and salty foods all increase the concentration of stone-forming substances in urine.

In early stages, kidney stones often show no clear symptoms until a stone shifts and blocks the urinary tract, causing severe cramping, burning urination, or hematuria. However, many people mistakenly attribute these symptoms to fatigue from hot weather, delaying treatment and risking serious complications like kidney failure or infection.

To prevent this disease, doctors recommend adequate water intake as the simplest and most effective kidney care method. Drink more than 2.5 liters daily, distributed throughout the day to keep urine dilute.

Office workers should keep a water bottle nearby and set reminders to drink every 30 minutes.

Additionally, modify eating habits by reducing salt intake and avoiding sugary and alcoholic beverages.

If you experience chronic back pain or urinary abnormalities, seek prompt diagnosis. Modern endoscopic technology now allows doctors to treat kidney stones efficiently, with faster patient recovery and reduced long-term complication risks.

Suan Dusit Poll Reveals April 2026 Thai Political Index: Anutin Stands Out Among Government Politicians, Abhisit Among Opposition

A monthly political survey shows Thailand's government confidence declining to 3.79 points in April, with opposition rated higher at 4.31 points, as the public demands urgent solutions to rising costs of living and economic hardship.

3 May Khaosod

On May 3, 2026, Suan Dusit Poll at Suan Dusit University surveyed 2,214 respondents nationwide between April 27-30 regarding the "April 2026 Thai Political Index." The overall political index score averaged 3.79 points, down from March's 3.89 points.

The opposition's performance received the highest rating at 4.31 points, while addressing drug trafficking and influential figures scored the lowest at 3.22 points.

Among government politicians, Anutin Charnvirakul emerged as most prominent at 39.07 percent, followed by Yossakorn Wongsuwan at 28.22 percent. Opposition standouts were Abhisit Vejjajiva at 27.82 percent and Ratchanok Srinork at 23.25 percent.

When asked what they wanted to tell the government, 49.82 percent called for solving cost-of-living issues and reducing financial burdens. For the opposition, 44.37 percent requested investigating government corruption and budget misuse.

Dr. Pornprom Buathong, Suan Dusit Poll director, noted that declining index scores across all measures indicate public concern extends beyond single issues to overall governance, economy, and quality of life. The public perceives insufficient tangible results, particularly on economic and cost-of-living fronts.

Assoc. Prof. Kannika Satheansathien, assistant dean for international affairs at Suan Dusit University's Law and Politics School, explained that public confidence in government performance has steadily declined over two months. External factors, particularly Middle East tensions affecting energy prices and consequently electricity, fuel, and commodity costs, significantly impact public perception. As wages and income haven't increased proportionally, dissatisfaction has shifted from blaming external factors to questioning government effectiveness in mitigating impacts. This crisis serves as a "test" of government capability—in price control, policy implementation, and proactive measures. Delayed, unclear, or non-transparent responses reinforce existing concerns about economic management, governance, and corruption. The Middle East crisis thus widens the "expectation gap" between state and citizens, reducing confidence across multiple dimensions. Current Thai political confidence ultimately depends on government's ability to convert external crisis into opportunities for efficient and accountable domestic management to restore public trust.
