Song: Forging Steel in People Performers and credits: Phr. Anphon Kamnuansak: Solo guitar Phr. Amnouy Khundaeng: Acoustic guitar, arrangement Phr. Natchapol Kaemratana: Lead vocals (middle range), arrangement Phr. Jitiwat Winsuntiea: Drums Phr. Pornpipat Sukthong: Lead vocals (lower range), arrangement Phr. Thongkham Sinsasitsai: Bass

Lyrics excerpts: Once in a lifetime, like lightning written by fate A red ID card that changes one person's life Some chase dreams for those behind them Some must bear disappointment from resignation Reminding myself repeatedly, I will make it through Telling myself over and over, I will make it through

From ordinary person to naval officer So many things requiring quick understanding Cast aside procrastination, forget exhaustion Everything must be done well—there is no such word as "can't"

Steel that seems hard is no match for the human spirit Enduring hardship through torment This ship will not abandon you—we go together My friends, let's reach the shore together, it's not far now

Born only once, must fight it once more With dreams of becoming a naval officer To serve the nation as a Thai man's duty Discipline and determination without losing heart For parents and siblings, waiting for little brother first Promise to you, young lady, not long now

Thailand Turns Ocean Waste Into Patient Care Textiles

Thailand is turning ocean waste and plastic bottles into medical-grade patient turning sheets that reduce pressure ulcers and ease caregiver burden. The Upcycling for Life initiative partners government agencies with the Princess Siriwannav

3h ago Khaosod

On July 2, 2026, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchati Chomklin presided over a handover ceremony for raw materials to produce patient turning sheets under the Upcycling for Life project, partnering with the Foundation for Coral Reef and Marine Life Conservation under Princess Siriwannavaree Narissara Rajakhanya. The initiative operates under a strategic cooperation framework for marine resource and environmental management toward sustainable social development, supporting the Princess's mission to conserve coral reefs, protect endangered marine species, and restore marine resources while engaging the public in addressing ocean waste and resource efficiency.

The ceremony included Admiral Suwin Jaengyodsuuk, foundation vice chairman, and senior officials including the ministry's permanent secretary and representatives from leading institutions.

Minister Suchati stated the project exemplifies transforming "ocean waste" into "social value" through a circular economy approach. PET plastic bottles and marine waste materials are processed using knowledge, technology, and innovation into products beneficial to patients and medical personnel, aligning with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water.

The patient turning sheets, made 100 percent from upcycled materials, provide body support, reduce friction, minimize pressure ulcer risk, offer good ventilation, are durable, and ease caregiver burden when moving patients. This innovation demonstrates how environmental conservation creates tangible improvements to people's quality of life.

Minister Suchati added that raw materials come from multi-sector cooperation: waste sorting by ministry personnel following Green Office guidelines, marine debris collection from beaches and river mouths, and fishing net scraps from coastal communities. Materials are sent to a school waste bank in Tha Khwam subdistrict, Chachoengsao province, where students learn waste management and resource value before private sector partners produce the patient turning sheets for medical use.

Director General Dr. Pinsak Surasawadeekul of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources noted that plastic waste in the ocean significantly impacts ecosystems, tourism, and coastal communities. Field surveys also reveal many bedridden patients lack quality medical equipment due to high costs. The Upcycling for Life project serves as a model for creating new value from discarded resources, reducing environmental problems while improving patient and caregiver quality of life, demonstrating collaboration among government, private sector, academia, and civil society in conserving marine resources and advancing the nation's sustainable development.

3h ago Khaosod

Police arrested a former son-in-law on suspicion of murdering a woman, her mother, and father, whose bodies were buried in a cassava field in Nakhon Sawan province after their disappearance on June 30, 2569. A missing persons alert was posted online on that date for the three family members from Phaisali District. Investigators found evidence of forced entry into the home and discovered that security camera systems had been disabled before the three vanished. A crucial lead pointed to the family's pickup truck, which was spotted in Pathum Thani province. Police from Phaisali Station searched the cassava field and found soil with fresh digging and burial marks, concealed beneath scattered leaves. After coordinating with forensic teams from Nakhon Sawan Provincial Police Region, officers apprehended the former boyfriend—identified as the ex-son-in-law—in Chachoengsao province. He confessed to murdering his ex-girlfriend along with her parents, totaling three victims. The motive stemmed from relationship disputes and property-related conflicts.

Supachai Speaks Out On Om Patchara's Home Woes

Actress Om Patchara's home construction project has plagued her with repeated roof leaks over years of unfinished work, with Supachai offering his support and noting many contractors have since volunteered to help resolve the persistent iss

3h ago Khaosod

Supachai spoke on behalf of actress Om Patchara, acknowledging her considerable stress over the home construction project that remains unfinished after many years, plagued by repeated roof leaks occurring six to seven times without resolution.

Supachai was launching the 13th A Fair market event at CentralWorld's G floor, an event featuring dining, shopping, and performances by renowned artists running daily from July 1-15, 2026.

Regarding Om Patchara's home problems, which she posted about online after discovering persistent roof leaks, Supachai explained: "The roof leak issue is that Om really cares about building the house. She watches it constantly, oversees it constantly. But there may be accidents, mistakes that need fixing. Building a house is ongoing—there are roof leaks and other issues. Om has to keep fixing them. Since she posted about it, many contractors have reached out to me and to her, wanting to help. She's quite stressed. Stressed about the house. It's like it never gets finished."

When asked if he's spoken with Om since the problem emerged, Supachai said: "We talk about everything. I've gone to pray and asked that the house finally gets finished. I want to visit the new house. Om designed everything herself, did the design work. It's really beautiful."

On whether contractors bear direct responsibility, Supachai cautioned: "I haven't gone into the details. You'd need to ask Om herself. I can only speak to what I see, and I know the contractor too. He hasn't disappeared—he's still around. It's just that things aren't finished yet. They're working through the problems. I think the issue might be that when it rains, water leaks in. That's a problem we need to keep investigating. I'll ask Om on the 8th. I don't know how their contract is structured."

When asked if Om is stressed, Supachai replied: "Of course she's stressed. And the house—she's building it and living in it at the same time. It's not like she went somewhere else and is building a house. It's her home where she's living and working. We wake up hearing the sounds—bang, bang, bang all day. When will it ever finish? Her parents are there, her dogs are there. There's dust everywhere. I want it finished soon. She wants it finished. I can't even remember how many years it's been. But it's been a long time. A considerable stretch. It started as an extension to the original house—her property is already spacious. They're expanding it with a room for her father, a guest room, a sitting and dining area. Her father's room already existed, but ask for more details. I only know it's not done."

Supachai indicated he would seek more specific information from Om on July 8th at CentralWorld.

Padel Makes Asian Games Debut With Self-Funded Team

Thailand's padel team will compete at the Asian Games in Nagoya this September, marking the sport's continental debut, with the association self-funding the 600,000 baht budget since the federation lacks official government sports status.

3h ago Khaosod

Thailand's padel association will make history by competing at the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, marking the sport's first-ever inclusion in the continental competition. The Thai Olympic Committee has approved the participation of four padel athletes: men's doubles pair Anop Rawevol and Stefano Mocchola, and women's doubles pair Natalie Nakpraset and Daresai Srirungruang, supported by Spanish coach Miguel Melero Bernal and team manager Suphapluk Chairojn.

Association president Suphapluk Chairojn explained that the sport's inclusion stems from Thailand's strong performance at last October's Asia Cup in Doha, where Thai women finished 6th among 17 nations. The Asian Olympic Council (OCA) invited Thailand to participate after padel became an OCA member. Since padel's national federation is still seeking official sports registration from Thailand's sports authority, the association independently secured the 600,000 baht budget for the team rather than receiving government funding.

Chairojn expressed cautious optimism about Thailand's medal prospects, noting that athletes have trained consistently since returning from the Asia Cup and are now working with the Spanish coach. The main competitors Thailand faces are hosts Japan, Iran, and Indonesia. Padel competition will run from September 29 to October 3, with both men's and women's doubles events offering two gold medals for the sport.

Shop Owner Arrested For Abusing 7-Year-Old Girl

A 69-year-old shop owner in Nong Bua Lamphu province was arrested for sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl multiple times, after her grandmother grew suspicious when the child received unusual cash gifts.

3h ago Khaosod

Police reported on July 1 that a 69-year-old man faces charges of sexually abusing a 7-year-old second-grade student in Nong Bua Lamphu province. The incident occurred in May, and the victim's family filed a police report at Sri Bun Rueang Police Station.

According to local officials, the girl's 84-year-old grandmother noticed her granddaughter with 100 baht, unusual since the family typically gives the child only 5-10 baht for shopping at a nearby village store. When questioned, the girl revealed that the shop owner, identified as Mr. K., had given her the money. She gradually disclosed that the abuse had occurred multiple times. Villagers reported suspicions about the shop owner's behavior—he frequently hugged young female customers—but no one had formally reported the matter.

Lieutenant Colonel Tichanon Phuemphuen, deputy investigation chief at Sri Bun Rueang Police Station, stated that the suspect turned himself in voluntarily with no attempt to flee. After investigation, he was released pending further proceedings. Police are gathering evidence and documents to submit to prosecutors. Initially, the suspect denied the allegations but later confessed after additional evidence was collected.

Lieutenant Kittipol Somsit, deputy investigation director, revealed that following the family's complaint on May 14, the suspect initially denied involvement. However, investigators compiled additional evidence leading to charges of child sexual abuse and child trafficking. The suspect subsequently appeared before investigators and confessed.

The victim has undergone questioning with a multidisciplinary team at the provincial prosecutor's office according to child protection procedures. Education officials have visited the area and instructed the school to provide psychological support. Preliminary assessments show the child can continue attending school normally. Police and relevant agencies, including psychologists, are providing assistance. Authorities confirmed they will proceed carefully with the evidence while prioritizing the victim's rights and welfare, working to expedite the case for prosecution.

Activist Challenges Parliament Committee Chair Over NBTC Probe

An activist has challenged the House Speaker to investigate a parliamentary committee chair for potential bias and procedural violations while probing the NBTC chair's qualifications, citing the same official's prior involvement in question

3h ago Khaosod

On July 2, 2569, independent activist Sanhanath Satthapon submitted a letter to House Speaker Sophon Saramay requesting an investigation into the Political Development, Communications, and Public Participation Committee's actions. The committee had been examining the qualifications of the NBTC chair and summoned documents and relevant agencies for clarification.

The complaint argues that the committee's conduct raises suspicions regarding the chair's impartiality, proper use of authority, and procedural compliance. The activist questions whether the actions conform to constitutional law and parliamentary rules.

The complaint highlights that the same person—the committee chair—previously, as a parliamentary member alongside Rakchanak Srinok, filed documents with the selection committee challenging the NBTC chair's legal qualifications. This raises concerns about predetermined bias when the same individual now leads the committee investigating the same matter.

The complaint identifies several procedural violations. First, under the 2562 House Rules Article 90, committees must report fact-finding activities to the House Speaker and avoid duplicating other committees' work. Second, requesting documents from state officials requires compliance with the 2568 Act on Parliamentary Committee Powers Article 6, which mandates notifying the Prime Minister or relevant ministers beforehand. Third, the complaint notes no evidence exists that the committee passed a resolution authorizing the investigation as required by Article 7 of the same act.

The complaint also notes that the NBTC chair's qualifications were previously examined by another parliamentary committee on May 15, 2568, with the same complainant. This raises questions about whether the current investigation duplicates prior work.

The complaint additionally invokes Article 11 of the 2563 Code of Ethics for Members of Parliament, which requires representatives to act fairly, impartially, and without bias in performing their duties.
