Plasteau Film Company invites fans to challenge mysterious international beliefs in "Khao Kala," a New-Age Mystery Documentary directed by Yangterk Thanadej Ramsompop with Toffee Shivadol Chantanasevi serving as producer.

"Khao Kala" is based on true events and legends about alien military bases and UFO sightings around Khao Kala mountain in Nakhon Sawan province. Through firsthand accounts and experiences from believers, viewers will question whether events are lies, truth, or mysterious beliefs through interviews and footage never before released. The film presents a new New-Age Mystery Documentary format.

The documentary features nine stories from nine individuals: Kong Huairai Akkaradej Yodjampa, Ar The Star Anathpol Sirichuemsang, Nacha Chiranutt Yuusanant, Prang Prangthip, Diew The Star Phattrapol Kanpotchon, Toffee Sambathasip Shivadol Chantanasevi, Tong Caramel Arthapol Rujira, Dr. Surat Vongratanpattanasorn, and Luang Poo Tone Suthdhajitto.

Director Yangterk Thanadej explained: "Khao Kala is based on true events and legends about aliens and UFOs around Khao Kala mountain in Nakhon Sawan. It combines spiritual beliefs, conspiracy theories, and scientific interpretations at international standards. The mountain is famous as Thailand's UFO checkpoint, and we've reinterpreted these legends with greater intensity and intrigue."

Regarding presentation format, the director shared: "We deliberated extensively on how to tell this story while preserving truth. A conventional film would lose authenticity. After countless discussions over three years with Toffee, we settled on New Age Mystery Documentary—cinematic storytelling interspersed with real accounts from actual witnesses, like true documentary footage, enhanced with world-class visual effects and never-before-seen footage. You won't feel like watching a long film, but experiencing individual celebrity accounts we interviewed."

The choice of celebrities stems from the belief that ordinary people telling such stories risk ridicule, while established figures—actors, singers, monks, or businesspeople—lend credibility to these accounts.

The event will return bigger, better, and bolder, expecting to attract food buyers and importers from over 130 countries worldwide and generate trade value exceeding 130 billion baht, reinforcing its role as an international food trade platform and supporting Thailand's ambition to become the world's food trading center.

Sunanta Kangwalrk, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, revealed that each region currently plays an increasing trade role, resulting in supply chain restructuring that has brought significant changes to the food industry, including rising costs that require businesses to manage risks and seek new raw material sources. Additionally, competitive dynamics have shifted, with increased competition in quality, standards, safety, traceability, and new regulations like ESG principles becoming mandatory trade conditions.

The book 'All Beings Follow Their Karma,' authored by the Liang Chiang Publishing House team and published by Liang Chiang Publishing for Buddhism at 16 baht, presents karma as a fundamental Buddhist doctrine of major importance, earning Buddhism the designation as a 'karma religion.' Though the concept of karma existed before Buddhism, the Buddha uniquely understood and clarified the true law of karma, distinguishing it from three previous interpretations, and taught all beings how to correctly resolve problems stemming from karma.

While Buddhists believe in and value the law of karma more than other teachings, few truly understand it completely and correctly as the Buddha intended. Buddhist karma divides into three categories: unwholesome karma (akusala) rooted in greed, hatred, and delusion; wholesome karma (kusala) rooted in non-greed, non-hatred, and non-delusion; and karma that ends karma, which eliminates both wholesome and unwholesome karma and prevents rebirth—represented by the Noble Eightfold Path beginning with right view.

Most people understand only two types of karma: good and bad, remaining ignorant of the third type despite the Buddha's emphasis on it as the path to liberation and freedom from suffering and the cycle of death and rebirth. This teaching is unique to Buddhism and worthy of serious study.

'All Beings Follow Their Karma' reflects the purity and justice of natural law, granting all beings freedom to author their own lives—whatever karma one creates, one alone experiences its fruit.

Karma is a teaching the Buddha stressed throughout the Tripitaka and remains a primary subject of Buddhist study. This book divides into three main sections: knowledge about karma from various perspectives in the Tripitaka; designing a beautiful life through the ten paths of karma; and fourteen types of karma results experienced by the Buddha. The content helps readers gain deeper understanding of the law of karma.

New Release: Luang Pu Kalong Amulets from Khao Lam Temple

A new edition of amulets depicting the late Luang Pu Kalong Techavanno, a venerated Buddhist monk from Khao Lam Temple in Saraak Province, has been released. Luang Pu Kalong, famous for his distinctive natural jade fang and his spiritual teachings, created sacred amulets from 1957 to 2008 that remain highly collectible today. The most coveted edition is the 1998 Wang Sombun Sub-District Coin, of which 20,000 pieces were consecrated and distributed.

Luang Pu Kalong Techavanno, the renowned Buddhist scholar-monk from Khao Lam Temple in Wang Sombun District, Saraak Province, was affectionately called "Luang Pu Kalong Glass Fang" by his disciples because he was the only senior monk possessing a jade-like tooth in the center of his palate—an ancient belief associated with exceptional spiritual merit.

Born as Nong Nuch on January 10, 1904, in Phetchburi Province, his family later moved to Pathum Thani Province. At age 20, he underwent ordination at Wat Na Boon in Pathum Thani, with Luang Pho Chang from Wat Khian Khet serving as his preceptor. He studied Buddhist philosophy under numerous eminent masters including Luang Pho Niam at Wat Na Boon, Luang Pu Ta at Wat Pha Niang Taek in Nakhon Pathom, Luang Pho Jong at Wat Na Tang Nok in Ayutthaya, Luang Pho Thong Suk at Wat Ton Od Luang in Phetchburi, Phra Ratchamongkhon Muni (Sonthi) at Wat Suthat in Bangkok, and studied the teachings of Luang Pu Suk's lineage at Wat Pak Khlong Maakham Tao.

In his final years, he suffered from a chronic condition characterized by chest tightness and persistent cough, requiring regular medical treatment at hospitals between Bangkok and Saraak Province. Luang Pu Kalong passed away at 1:09 AM on September 13, 2009, at Paolo Memorial Hospital, at the age of 92 with 72 years of monastic life.

Luang Pu Kalong created sacred amulets from 1957 to 2008 across more than ten editions, employing a unique consecration method involving touching the amulet with his jade fang, believed to significantly enhance their spiritual power. These became highly sought-after collectibles.

The most popular edition is the "Wang Sombun Sub-District Coin," created in 1998 by the sub-district administrator and committee to commemorate the elevation to sub-district status. Luang Pu Kalong performed the consecration, producing 20,000 pieces total. The oval-shaped amulet features Luang Pu Kalong in full meditation posture on the obverse, with his right hand over his left. Notable details include Yantra Arahang inscribed on his robes, with the inscription "Techavanno (Kalong) Wat Khao Lam" surrounded by Khmer characters and Buddhist power symbols. The reverse displays Garuda with wings spread, water-drop Yantra above it, and the inscription "Wang Sombun Sub-District, Saraak Province, 1998" below. Though not ancient, this coin has been highly sought after by collectors due to its proven spiritual efficacy.

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the 121st death anniversary of Phra Khru Sangvorkittikun, or Luang Pho Eia Kittigo of Ban Dan Temple in Koh Loi Subdistrict, Pranchuap Khiri Khan District, was commemorated. Forty to fifty years ago, no one in the Thai-Cambodian border region of the east was unfamiliar with the renowned Luang Pho Eia. He received numerous invitations to preside over Buddhist ordination ceremonies throughout Pranchuap Khiri Khan Province and beyond, including major ceremonies in Bangkok.

Born on May 9, 1905, he lost his parents in his youth but remained devoted to education, completing his secondary studies at Chachoengsao Provincial School. He ordained on May 8, 1922, at age 17, and diligently studied Buddhist scripture and meditation. He received his higher ordination on May 18, 1925, at Samphan Temple in Pranchuap Khiri Khan Province.

A gifted scholar driven to constantly seek knowledge despite the limited educational opportunities of his time, Luang Pho Eia traveled to study at Luang Pu Suk's monastery, learning both traditional healing and ancient medicine. Recognizing the opportunity to help others, he provided assistance to anyone suffering—whether from physical ailments, emotional distress, or other hardships—without hesitation. Those who came to him received warmth and compassion rooted in the four brahmaviharas: loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity, which earned him widespread fame.

Appointed as abbot in 1939, he devoted himself to serving the community through medical care and spiritual guidance. The temple became like a small hospital, with some patients staying for months to receive his care. In 1958, he was appointed head of Koh Loi Subdistrict, overseeing seven temples, and in 1959 became an ordained teacher. He received the ecclesiastical title Phra Khru Sangvorkittikun in 1968.

Throughout his life, he trained monks, novices, and lay practitioners, promoting education by establishing a Buddhist studies academy and founding Koh Loi Kittigo School. He created numerous sacred amulets, medals, pendants, photographs, blessed powders, and talismans. When the impermanence of all conditioned things led to his death on July 17, 1978, at age 73 and 52 years of monastic life, his final instruction to his disciples was: "All of you must perform good deeds through body, speech, and mind. Those who do so will surpass all others. Remember that unity is strength, both in the world and in the dharma. Wherever you live, bring prosperity to that place through honesty and integrity. All things will manifest themselves."

Data from the department's scan of Surat Thani province—specifically Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, world-renowned tourist destinations with high risk of nominee business activity—shows that Surat Thani has 21,717 registered companies, with 11,649 (53.6%) involving foreign investment. The top 10 nationalities of investors are: France (2,365 companies, 20%), United Kingdom (1,446, 12%), Russia (1,205, 10%), Israel (1,147, 10%), Germany (608, 5%), China (569, 5%), United States (444, 4%), Australia (335, 3%), Italy (258, 2%), and Belgium (222, 2%).

Thailand currently has a physician-to-population ratio of approximately 1 to 900, compared to developed countries at around 1 to 600. While workload assessments indicate a shortfall of 20,000-30,000 full-time equivalent physicians, the ministry believes allocation decisions should be based on actual hospital workload rather than population ratios alone.

"The ministry is currently surveying all regions within three months to determine how many physicians each hospital—from 30-bed community hospitals to 600-700 bed regional centers—should have based on actual workload, including bed capacity, patient volume, and population served," Dr. Somruks said.

The primary issue is that most physicians work in the private sector or large hospitals, leaving Ministry of Public Health facilities, particularly in remote areas, severely understaffed. The ministry is implementing a new compensation system based on workload and productivity rather than uniform salaries, especially for high-demand specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, and emergency medicine.

Many specialist physicians work considerably harder than their counterparts in less demanding fields but receive equal salaries, prompting younger doctors to pursue easier specialties or careers in cosmetic medicine instead. The ministry is considering increasing special hardship allowances for positions in areas with over 40% physician shortages from 5,000 baht to 15,000 baht, and 10,000 baht for areas with 20-40% shortages.

Regarding state-funded physicians and medical interns, the ministry has implemented a new system allowing medical students and interns to voluntarily work in shortage areas first in exchange for priority selection of further study grants and preferred training locations.

"Previously, many state-funded physicians drew lots, got assigned to unwanted areas, and quit after the first year. This year we announced 30 shortage hospitals needing 205 physicians total. Those who volunteer get immediate priority in selecting further study opportunities. As a result, 180 first-year interns and 180 graduating medical students have already volunteered," Dr. Somruks stated.

Provinces with severe physician shortages include Bueng Kan and Sisaket, where the ministry is accelerating solutions, particularly regarding work systems and support from senior physicians and staff.

Dr. Somruks noted that the most common complaint from state-funded physicians is not compensation but lack of mentorship and teaching support. The ministry has received formal complaints through the Medical Council and established a fact-finding committee to address the issue.

During their media interview, the pair revealed plans for May birthday celebrations. Ling's birthday is May 11, while Om's is May 27. They plan to celebrate with dinners, fan concerts, fan meets, and birthday parties with their supporters.
