Rosemary Presses Charges Against Close Friend for Allegedly Abusing Her 13-Year-Old Son in Khao Yai, Vows to Pursue Case to the End
Former Thai-Filipino singer Rosemary Kahanding filed a police report against a studio photographer who allegedly sexually abused her 13-year-old son in Khao Yai during Songkran. The photographer initially offered to settle with payments ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 baht, but Rosemary refused, vowing to pursue the case and seek compensation for her son's psychological trauma.
At 10:00 AM on April 28, 2569, at Kok Khram Police Station, Rosemary Kahanding, a former Thai-Filipino singer, brought her 13-year-old son to file a police report against an acquaintance and studio photographer who allegedly committed indecent assault against the boy in Khao Yai during the recent Songkran festival.
Rosemary revealed that on April 20, the photographer sent her a Line message asking to take her son on a trip to a five-star hotel in Khao Yai and engage in various activities to expand his worldview. Although her son was reluctant, she thought it was a good opportunity and allowed him to go.
Rosemary stated that on the afternoon of April 23, when her son returned home, he displayed unusual behavior. By 8:00 PM that evening, he told her that he would never go anywhere with this person again because the man had sexually abused him by grabbing his genitals. Shocked, she called the photographer, who admitted to the act but claimed it was just horseplay. He offered to settle the matter by paying 20,000 baht, but she refused.
The photographer later increased his offer to 100,000 baht with installment payments, asking her to have mercy and not ruin his future. He warned that if charges were filed, they could not be withdrawn, and that prosecution would result in job loss and possible imprisonment, leaving him unable to pay compensation or psychological treatment for the boy. He apologized, but Rosemary stated that an apology and compensation cannot heal her son's psychological damage.
Rosemary emphasized that this incident will leave a permanent scar on her son's mind. She also noted that days before, the photographer posted on Facebook, checking in at Suvarnabhumi Airport with a message about going to work abroad, which raised her concerns about him fleeing. Therefore, she decided to file the report and requested that investigators coordinate with Moo Si Police Station.
Rosemary confirmed her determination to pursue the case to the fullest extent and demands compensation for psychological treatment for her 13-year-old son.
