New Manager Option? Chelsea Begins Talks with Andoni Iraola's Representatives

Chelsea has started preliminary talks with representatives of Spanish manager Andoni Iraola as the club searches for a new manager following Liam Rosenior's dismissal. Iraola, currently at Bournemouth, will become available at the end of the season and is considered a leading candidate for the Chelsea position. However, discussions remain in early stages with no significant progress reported yet.

27 Apr Khaosod

Chelsea, in search of a new manager, has reportedly initiated talks with representatives of Andoni Iraola, the Spanish coach who will become available after the current season concludes, though discussions have yet to yield significant progress.

According to reports, Chelsea of the English Premier League has begun negotiations with Andoni Iraola's representatives. The coach will be available after the season ends.

Chelsea recently sacked Liam Rosenior on April 22, with Calem McFarland assuming temporary charge. The club is now flooded with speculation about potential new manager candidates.

Iraola has announced his departure from Bournemouth, another Premier League club, at the end of the current season, positioning him as one of the leading contenders for Chelsea's managerial vacancy given his strong performance with Bournemouth.

Reports indicate that Chelsea held initial talks with Iraola's representatives to gather information about the 43-year-old coach's plans for the summer. However, the discussions have made little headway, as Chelsea was primarily seeking to learn more about the veteran manager rather than making concrete advances.

40-Ton Durian Truck Headed for China Overturns After Collision; Driver Trapped in Wreckage for 7 Hours but Miraculously Survives

A 40-ton durian truck destined for China overturned after colliding with a pickup truck near the Nakhon Phanom border, trapping the 50-year-old driver for seven hours before rescue teams extracted him alive with severe injuries.

27 Apr Khaosod

A 40-ton trailer truck loaded with durians destined for China collided with a pickup truck and overturned on the roadside while crossing the border, with the driver trapped in the wreckage for over 7 hours but miraculously surviving. On April 27, rescue personnel from Sawang Nawa Nakhon Phanom rescue association, paramedics from Somdej Phra Yuppharat Nakhon Phanom Hospital, Red Cross volunteers, and personnel from Teck Ka Chee Mok Koh in Mukdahan province, along with other emergency responders, worked to rescue the 50-year-old truck driver after the collision near Ban Don Sawan in Uam Mao subdistrict, Thaen Nakhon Phanom district. The pickup truck's driver escaped unharmed after being rear-ended and running off the road, but the trailer truck driver sustained severe injuries and became trapped inside. Rescue teams deployed oxygen, ventilators, and hydraulic cutting equipment to extract the critically injured driver, a process that took over 7 hours. Remarkably, the driver retained vital signs throughout and was rushed to Somdej Phra Yuppharat Nakhon Phanom Hospital. Initial investigation suggests the truck driver may have dozed off during the lengthy journey from central Thailand to the Nakhon Phanom border region while transporting over 40 tons of durians through the Third Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge via Khammouane, Laos, through Vietnam, and on to China.

Wife's Love Leads to Regret: Woman Apologizes After Criticizing Bang Saen Police for Seizing Husband's Illegally Modified Motorcycle

A woman apologized after her Facebook post criticized Bang Saen police for seizing her husband's illegally modified motorcycle, admitting the bike lacked proper documentation and license plates.

27 Apr Khaosod

A woman's regretful apology followed her heated Facebook post criticizing Bang Saen police for confiscating vehicles and targeting her husband's illegally modified motorcycle without proper license plates or documentation.

On April 27, 2026, a Facebook user posted a complaint against Saen Suk Police Station in Chon Buri, saying: "They're out hunting for traffic violations and even seized my boyfriend's vehicle while he was refueling. They're everywhere looking to shake people down for money. Too bad I can't use that cash to take my kid out for hot pot for two days."

Police Captain Naratpong Udonsri, commander of Saen Suk Station, and Lieutenant Nikon Phansaen investigated the case involving the husband and his 26-year-old wife, the Facebook poster. The wife confessed that when her husband called after being stopped, she was so angry she posted immediately without thinking.

"I feel guilty and remorseful now," she said. "The motorcycle my husband was riding was truly illegal—it had a loud aftermarket pipe, no license plate, and no ownership documents. I will post an apology to the police on my Facebook and share it with the groups that shared my original post. I sincerely apologize to the commanders and officers of Saen Suk Police Station for damaging their reputation."

Captain Naratpong revealed he initially considered charges under the Computer Crime Act and defamation laws, but given the couple's circumstances and that such charges would be severe with substantial fines, he decided to show mercy and give them a chance to reflect. The case has a 10-year statute of limitations, and he will monitor the woman's Facebook for further posts criticizing police and whether her apology is sincere.

"I want to tell people planning to post something to think carefully," he said. "Posts like these damage others' reputations, and such leniency won't be offered to everyone as it was to this couple. Police work 24 hours a day, and when officers make a seizure and then face public criticism online, it demoralizes them and affects their morale."

"Bungfai Phikhat" Faces "Singho Noi" in Explosive Muay Thai Showdown

Muay Thai legend Bungfai Phikhat faces rising star Singho Noi in a high-stakes matchup on Tuesday, April 28th in the Muay Thai Sannot Muang series. The fight pits Bungfai's superior technique and experience against Singho Noi's aggressive pressure fighting and current momentum from three consecutive wins. The bout airs live on TrueVision NOW at 6:00 PM.

27 Apr Khaosod

The main event of Muay Thai Sannot Muang on Tuesday, April 28th will pit two distinctly different fighting styles against each other: "Bungfai Phikhat from Traymul Snooker Club," a polished right-stance fighter with superior ring craft and stronger fundamentals, versus "Singho Noi, student of Prapai," an aggressive left-stance fighter full of vitality, raw power, and relentless ground pressure. The match airs live on TrueVision NOW from 6:00 PM onward.

The intrigue of this matchup hinges on whether Bungfai Phikhat can use his superior technique to intercept Singho Noi's aggressive approach with kicks and strikes. Experience-wise, Bungfai Phikhat has fought on major stages and competed for titles, giving him an edge in fight reading and tactical execution, though recent form has shown slight inconsistency. Meanwhile, Singho Noi is in ascendant form with three consecutive victories, giving him high confidence and a noticeably fresher physique. Singho Noi's advantages lie in his relentless ground pressure and powerful clinch work—if he can close the distance and disrupt Bungfai's rhythm, the fight could quickly turn in his favor.

Ultimately, this bout is a clash between "refinement" and "freshness." If Bungfai Phikhat can manage distance and maintain range with superior technique as planned, he has a strong chance of grinding out a points decision. However, if Singho Noi can leverage his work rate and sustained pressure to break his opponent or catch him off-guard, he could pull off a surprise upset. This is a headliner worthy of attention that will keep fans on edge until the final round.

Fans can watch the live broadcast on TrueVision NOW on Tuesday, April 28th beginning at 6:00 PM. Subscribe to the Now Muay Thai package at 99 baht per month to catch live muay thai daily and access a vast archive of replays. Payment options include credit cards, True Money Wallet, and True Bill. Blessed by Ancestors: Ancient Trees Fall on Naga Statue, Damage Fortunately Occurs During Noon Closure with No Injuries

Two ancient trees collapsed onto a naga statue at a shrine in Udon Thani's Ban Dung district on Saturday, causing damage but no injuries because the incident occurred during the temple's noon closure when visitors were restricted.

27 Apr Khaosod

On Saturday, April 27, 2025, two chamchuri trees fell and collapsed onto a naga statue near the entrance bridge to the shrine of Grandfather Srisuddho and Grandmother Sripratum in Ban Dung district, Udon Thani province, approximately 50 meters from the tail section. The naga's body sustained roughly 1.30 meters of damage, and the other tree struck a beehive, causing bees to scatter and attack fleeing tourists. The incident occurred during the temple's noon closure when entry is restricted; the temple reopens in the afternoon, which prevented injuries or fatalities, though some visitors did receive bee stings. Notably, there was no storm, wind, or unusual weather conditions at the time of the collapse. Temple management has brought in workers to repair the damage, and the site is now open for worship as usual. Local village headman Tik reported hearing loud sounds and observing the fallen trees and swarming bees. The tree collapse is attributed to advanced age and structural imbalance. Caretaker Chuwakan Khamwansa described the incident as miraculous, crediting the blessings of the ancestors for the trees falling precisely during the noon closure rather than when tourists were present. The temple has also provided lottery numbers for those interested in trying their luck in the May 2 drawing: triple digits 8-7-6-9 and incense divination numbers 861 and 168.

A frustrated vendor filed a police report after 3 kilograms of pork bones worth 450 baht disappeared from her motorcycle basket while she was shopping. On April 27, 2025, 44-year-old Jintana from Ban Na District, Nakhon Nayok Province, reported the theft to police investigator Waraporn Praserit at Ban Na Police Station. She said she had purchased the pork bones from a market vendor at Wat Samob Bunkong Temple market and placed them in her red Honda Wave motorcycle parked behind the temple, then went to shop for other items. When she returned to leave, she discovered the 3 kilograms of pork bones worth 450 baht—which she planned to cook and sell to customers—had vanished. She requested to review the security camera footage and discovered a woman in her 30s wearing an orange shirt, black shorts, and curly hair grabbing the pork bones from the motorcycle and fleeing. CCTV also showed the same woman circling a blue motorcycle with items in a basket, appearing to case it for theft, but the owner arrived and drove away before she could steal anything. She then moved on to red and green motorcycles parked nearby, quickly grabbing items from both before escaping. Jintana asked police to track down the suspect, as residents have experienced frequent thefts of items left on motorcycles at the market.

2 Chinese tourists arrested after gold shop robbery in Korat

Two Chinese tourists were arrested in Bangkok after stealing 300,000 baht in gold rings from a Nakhon Ratchasima shop in a 30-second smash-and-grab robbery on Sunday.

27 Apr Khaosod

Police have arrested two Chinese men accused of carrying out a brazen gold shop robbery in Nakhon Ratchasima on Sunday morning, stealing gold rings worth an estimated 300,000 baht before fleeing the scene. The incident took place at around 10:11am on April 27 at a gold shop in Dan Kwian subdistrict, Chok Chai district, where two masked men entered the store while two female staff members were inside. Police said the employees fled to the back of the shop after spotting the men, who were wearing black long-sleeve shirts, shorts, and masks covering their faces. Unable to access gold necklaces due to protective grills, the men used a blunt object to smash a display cabinet containing gold rings before quickly grabbing items and fleeing the scene. The entire robbery took approximately 30 seconds. The men then escaped in a white Toyota Yaris sedan with no visible licence plate, prompting police to issue a nationwide alert. Authorities later confirmed the men were Chinese nationals identified as 27-year-old Zou Qintao from Guangdong province and 19-year-old Song Haolong from Sichuan province. Police said the pair were arrested later the same day at a car rental shop in Prawet district, Bangkok, after investigators traced the vehicle used in the robbery back to the rental company. Officers coordinated with immigration police and local units before locating the pair, who were found in possession of the stolen gold rings. No firearm was recovered, with the men allegedly claiming it had been discarded during their escape. Police said initial investigations suggested the pair entered Thailand as tourists, and both were reported to have Thai girlfriends. Authorities added that they allegedly ran out of money before planning the robbery. Investigators from Nakhon Ratchasima provincial police are en route to take custody of the pair for further questioning in the province, while evidence is being compiled for legal proceedings.
