Thai police arrested a 35-year-old gang member in Bangkok who was fleeing to Cambodia after operating a transnational call center scam that impersonated police to extort victims since mid-2024.

12 May Khaosod

On May 12, 2026, Deputy Police Commissioner Chanannat Saratwalpaet ordered officers including Phanuphát Kittiphan and Phrasek Chaowsan to apprehend Amorn Thep, 35, based on a warrant from the Bangkok South Criminal Court. He faces charges of participating in a transnational organized crime ring, extortion, fraud through impersonation, inputting false data into computer systems, and forging official documents. Gas Station Worker Recounts Terrifying Moment: Customer Flees Without Paying, Drags Her by Motorcycle After Three Respectful Wai Gestures, Leaves Her With Head Split Open Requiring Two Stitches

A 20-year-old gas station worker in Chachoengsao Province was dragged by a motorcycle after a customer fled without paying for fuel, resulting in a severe head wound requiring two stitches. The incident occurred late at night when the worker attempted to stop the fleeing customer by grabbing the motorcycle's rear bumper. She is now urging police to apprehend the suspect and prosecute him under the law.

12 May Khaosod

A gas station attendant has recounted a harrowing incident where a customer fled without paying, dragging her alongside a motorcycle and causing her to strike her head on the ground, resulting in a laceration requiring two stitches and bruising across her body.

According to video evidence, the gas station employee attempted to hold onto the rear of a motorcycle that suddenly accelerated to escape after fuel was dispensed. The customer dragged the worker along the ground before she fell and hit her head hard, sustaining injuries before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred at 11:50 PM on May 11 at a gas station on Sukhumvit Road in the Pattaya-bound lane, in Ban Lamung District, Chachoengsao Province.

On May 12 at 4:00 PM, a reporter spoke with Ms. Poy, age 20, the gas station worker featured in the video. She bore facial scratches, a severe laceration on her head requiring two stitches, and bruising covering her body.

Ms. Poy explained that nearly at midnight, a customer on a motorcycle came to refuel, requesting a full tank of 95 Gasohol. She found it odd when the customer placed his hands together in a respectful wai gesture toward her. After completing the fuel transaction, she asked if he would pay by scanning, and he nodded in agreement. She then informed the cashier of this.

Shortly after, the customer mounted his motorcycle and immediately started the engine, wai-ing to her two more times before suddenly accelerating and attempting to flee. Startled by his attempt to escape, she instinctively grabbed the motorcycle's rear bumper. However, the force of the acceleration dragged her along the ground. She tried to let go but couldn't release her grip in time, causing her to lose balance, fall hard on her head, and sustain the injuries described.

Ms. Poy, who has worked at the gas station for over three years, stated this was the first time in her career she had experienced such an incident, and the trauma will stay with her for a long time. She is urging police to find and apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice under the law.

Woman Heading Home When Mother Cat Suddenly Bolts From Car—Security Guards Help Search and Discover 2 Newborn Kittens Born Inside

A Thai woman discovered a mother cat had given birth to two orange kittens inside her parked car after she returned from work, with security guards helping locate the newborns in the engine compartment. The incident, which the car owner indicated had happened before, became a viral TikTok moment that prompted online users to request the car's license plate number for lottery purposes.

12 May Khaosod

On May 12, TikTok user @srisuda_kie posted a video of a mother cat secretly giving birth to kittens inside her parked car after it had been parked for just one day. She wrote: "I parked my car at work from morning until evening. When I was about to head home, a mother cat ran out of my car. I stopped and listened. The security guard told me the cat wasn't finished yet (we could hear the kitten crying). I turned off the engine and we all helped search—so funny! In the end, two orange kittens on May 7. #CatGivingBirth #KittensInCar #OrangeCat."

In the video, text appeared saying: "About to head home when the mother cat ran out of the car. Turns out she gave birth in my car again!" Security guards surrounded her vehicle trying to locate the crying sounds of the newborn kittens before she exclaimed, "Again?!"

The guards then used flashlights to search for the source of the sound until they found two orange kittens in the engine compartment. The car's license plate was mentioned as "059." Apparently, this wasn't the first time a cat had given birth in this particular vehicle, which is why the owner's reaction was so exasperated.

After the post went viral, many comments poured in with people asking for the license plate number, hoping to use it as a lucky number for the upcoming lottery draw.

Sansiri's Contractor Training Program Partners with Supanimit Foundation on SAFER Work Project

Sansiri, one of Thailand's major real estate developers, has partnered with World Vision Foundation of Thailand on the SAFER Work project to improve employment practices and protect migrant worker rights in the construction sector. The initiative builds on previous successful programs and aims to create transparent, ethical hiring practices across construction supply chains while providing migrant workers with essential information about their legal rights, welfare, and access to government services. The project will focus on female migrant workers and their families across six provinces in Thailand.

12 May Khaosod

Sansiri's Contractor Training Program has partnered with Supanimit Foundation (World Vision Foundation of Thailand) to establish ethical employment practices and safeguard the rights and welfare of migrant workers through the SAFER Work project (Strengthening Accountability For Employing and Recruiting Migrant Workers in Thailand). In 2025, Thailand's construction sector continues to depend on migrant labor at high levels. According to the Department of Employment's first quarter 2025 data, Thailand has approximately 2.25 million construction workers, of which around 535,000 are foreign workers—meaning one in four workers on construction sites is a migrant.

As a real estate developer committed to equality and human dignity, Sansiri believes that "the quality of housing delivered to customers must begin with the quality of life of construction workers." Migrant workers in this sector continue to face multifaceted challenges including limited access to labor rights, social security, healthcare, workplace safety, language barriers, and accurate information.

Somchai Promsiri, Chief of Staff at Sansiri Public Company Limited, stated that the company's labor rights work did not begin overnight but has roots dating back to 2011 with the initiative "Support for Eliminating Child Labor on Construction Sites," including the creation of child-friendly spaces in construction camps. That experience shaped understanding that children's quality of life cannot be separated from the rights, welfare, and fair treatment that workers deserve, leading to deeper learning about labor conditions and obstacles migrant workers face in Thailand.

In 2022, Sansiri and World Vision Foundation of Thailand launched the REACH project (Reaching Women Migrant Workers and Their Families in Construction Camps) to reach female migrant workers and their families in construction worker accommodations, with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO). The initiative provided education on fundamental legal rights including wages, overtime, health insurance, women's rights, sexual violence prevention, reproductive health, complaint mechanisms, and access to government services, while building vocational skills for long-term economic security.

Based on lessons and results from REACH, which helped many workers gain knowledge of their rights and access essential information and services, the program expanded into SAFER Work, strengthening accountability in employing and recruiting migrant workers in Thailand with continued support from ILO and the European Union (EU). The project aims to extend impact from individual workers to improving employment practices across the entire Thai construction supply chain. Today, this commitment evolves through SAFER Work, transitioning from merely "supporting" to "building systems" for transparent and fair employment throughout the supply chain. The project targets female migrant workers and families in six provinces: Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, and Chachoengsao, through two key mechanisms:

1. Empowerment (Workers): Focus on female workers and families to access information on rights, welfare, social security, and reproductive health to reduce language and inequality gaps 2. System Change (Contractors):
