Kasetsart University is rolling out 'KU Aerobic for the People,' a free public fitness initiative designed to encourage residents to stay active and healthy. The program takes place every Friday at the Star Plaza behind the Grand Assembly Hall, with two sessions: 5:30–6:15 p.m. and 6:30–7:15 p.m., open to people of all ages and genders at no cost. The program aims to promote public health awareness, reduce risks from non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and contribute to sustainable quality of life.
The initiative is part of Kasetsart University's policy under Acting President Dr. Damrong Sripairam to establish the university as a 'wellness hub for society' while opening green spaces for public use. The program combines fitness, health promotion, and community building in a relaxed, natural atmosphere.
Participants enjoy aerobic dancing to energetic music with new choreography that boosts metabolism and creates positive energy while building community among health-conscious residents. The first session on Friday, April 24, 2025, drew over 300 participants with high satisfaction ratings. Feedback showed strong approval, with attendees requesting the program continue weekly and expand to additional days, reflecting strong community interest and demand.
This initiative reflects Kasetsart University's identity as a 'green university' committed to environmental sustainability and quality of life. The university has been ranked Thailand's number one green university for five consecutive years (2021–2025) and ranks 22nd globally in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2025.
'KU Aerobic for the People' represents more than just exercise—it embodies the 'Green & Healthy University' philosophy that integrates personal health care with environmental stewardship, creating sustainable life balance for everyone. The university invites all residents to 'Move Together' every Friday and enjoy the energy of group fitness.
