Dr. Joe Canvasses Bangkok's Bang Rak District, Receives Strong Response, Aims to Sweep All 50 Orange Constituency Seats

Pheu Thai's Bangkok gubernatorial candidate Chaivatana Sittiprawit campaigned in Bang Rak district on May 8, meeting residents and pledging to address cost-of-living and infrastructure concerns while aiming to win all 50 Metropolitan Assemb

8 May Khaosod

On May 8, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the ITF Market, Chaivatana Sathavawichit, the Pheu Thai Party's candidate for Bangkok Governor, along with fellow Pheu Thai lawmakers Tao Phipop Limjitrakorn and Vanasanjai Sirimewakhin, a candidate for the Bang Rak Metropolitan Assembly seat, met with residents, merchants, and business owners in the area. The atmosphere was lively, with citizens requesting photos and Chaivatana introducing himself to shoppers and vendors alike.

During the visit, a pants shop owner living in the Thonburi area raised concerns about persistent pedestrian pathway and pipe cover problems in Soi Charan Sanitwong 13 that remained unresolved despite multiple complaints. He expressed hope that if Chaivatana were elected governor, these infrastructure issues would finally be addressed.

Chaivatana received the complaint and immediately contacted Pavitra Jitakij, a Pheu Thai lawmaker in the area, to coordinate and follow up on the matter.

When asked about choosing Silom as his first campaign location, Chaivatana explained he wanted to reflect the lives of Bangkok's urban residents during midday hours, believing this area best captures city life. Meeting office workers, merchants, and business owners provided him with diverse perspectives and insights.

Regarding public response, Chaivatana said the reception was satisfactory, noting he received warm welcomes from market patrons and vendors. Based on feedback collected, he identified two main priority areas: First, the cost of living in Bangkok is quite high. The Pheu Thai Party proposes supporting affordable food venues such as food courts and markets through land tax mechanisms to help Bangkok residents access cheaper food and reduce living expenses. Second, transportation challenges—pedestrians encounter broken pipes and uneven sidewalks, and public transportation remains cumbersome. These concerns came primarily from office workers, who represent the middle class and majority of Bangkok's population.

When asked about his confidence against incumbent Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, Chaivatana stated that while he acknowledges the race won't be easy, he expects to win. He emphasized he doesn't stand alone—he campaigns with 50 Metropolitan Assembly candidates and respected management teams across districts. The entire Pheu Thai Party backs him, with 120 other lawmakers ready to address structural problems in parliament, giving him confidence to offer better proposals and paint a brighter future for Bangkok residents.

When asked about his Metropolitan Assembly seat targets, Chaivatana said: "If you ask me, we've already secured 33 constituencies across Bangkok and swept the province with orange. Wouldn't it be great if we could sweep all 50 Metropolitan Assembly seats throughout the province as well? As for me, I want to set high targets."

Yossanan Partners with MIT to Advance AHA Thailand Using AI for National Learning Platform

Thailand's Deputy PM Yossanan announced partnerships with MIT and OpenAI to advance artificial intelligence, including establishing AHA Thailand as a research hub and creating a national learning platform using AI to help Thai people of all

8 May Khaosod

On May 8, 2025, at the National Innovation Agency (NIA), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yossanan Vongswasdi held a seminar titled 'AI: The Invisible Architect of Future Industry' to exchange policies and strategies for promoting Thailand's artificial intelligence technology industry. The event featured MIT Media Lab scientist and AI researcher Phat Bhattanuthorn, an expert in Human-AI Interaction.

Yossanan stated that AI is critically important to Thailand's future, making it essential for the country to urgently prepare across all dimensions to systematically accommodate AI and encourage Thai people to think boldly and pursue new initiatives.

"What we need isn't just technology or resources, but heroes and inspiring stories that spark social progress with confidence," Yossanan said. "If Thailand commits seriously and consistently, we can see concrete results within 3-4 years."

AI is not merely a single technology branch but a core link connecting other major industries, particularly biotech, medicine, and drug development. AI development also impacts the semiconductor industry and transforms the entire industrial structure.

Therefore, the most critical issue isn't just technological development, but preparing people and human capital for major changes so everyone can use AI as a tool for personal and national development.

"For this reason, the 'AI for All' concept is being promoted to give all Thai people access to and use AI extensively in economics, education, public health, and social development, making AI a true force driving the country across all dimensions," Yossanan explained.

Yossanan announced that the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation will collaborate with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in two major projects:

1. An Advanced Research linkage project on AI and humans between Thailand and MIT to establish 'AHA Thailand' as a central hub attracting universities and tech startups to drive national development in human capital and science and technology.

2. The 'Learning Lab' project in collaboration with OpenAI to identify AI models best suited to Thai children's learning, creating a blueprint for developing people of all ages—from children to workers needing reskilling and upskilling to retirees—enabling them to adapt to technology and contribute to national productivity.

This educational research will form the foundation for developing policies and creating a national learning platform.

Teacher Bier Reveals Famous Mystic Has Been Solving Karma for Years, Only Selecting Handsome Clients—Sharp Response to Those Who Still Believe He's Genuine Because They've Never Been Targeted

A spiritual teacher accuses a famous Lamphun mystic of selectively targeting only attractive clients while claiming to solve karma, calling the practice a long-standing fraud that exploits people's desire for supernatural solutions.

8 May Khaosod

In the same era as when Gu became famous! Teacher Bier reveals this famous karma-solving mystic has been operating for a long time, only selecting handsome clients—he responds pointedly to those still believing this teacher is genuine because they've never been targeted.

Amid heavy criticism of a famous mystic from Lamphun province named Ammangkorn who claims to solve karma, Teacher Bier, a spiritually awakened individual, also comments on this famous fortune-teller and karma-solver.

Teacher Bier reveals the famous karma-solving mystic has been doing this for ages, famous in the same era as him.

"He was probably as famous as I was back then, exploding in popularity. This whole karma-solving thing with celebrities who went and said they'd give lists of names, claiming to know the future and past, solve karma, understand who did what to whom—he was probably famous in the same era I was. Crowds of people flocked to him."

"Thai people cling to those with mystical powers wanting to be superior to others, so we run toward those people to fix our suffering. When we have problems, we look for something to rely on—wow, knowing the future, knowing past lives, solving karma. It's not smart."

"Let him grab karma, but don't grab shellfish with it. He only grabs karma exclusively, and he chooses karma too—only grabbing pretty karma. Ugly karma he doesn't grab."

"He shares clips. Nos Udom told this story, and Nos wasn't happy—my karma was wrong, what did I do? I had to run all over temples, visiting many, before getting five names. But this handsome guy gets five names in one session. And the story Nos Udom told was years ago."

"This means the issue existed for a long time. If it's the same person, it means this has been going on for ages, not something new. He's been like this for a long time, but he only selects good-looking people. Some women say this teacher is genuine, but I don't believe it. Oh, because you're a woman he doesn't grab you? When a handsome guy comes he grabs his karma? He likes to massage karma."

Teacher Bier responds to those still believing this teacher is genuine because they've never been targeted:

"You're still stupid. Honestly, you shouldn't believe fortune-tellers at all. Karma can't be solved. I've tried telling you, you're still dumb, not understanding. You only claim feeling at peace. He's genuine, he's authentic. I've seen some people solve it differently. In the past he was still genuine, but now he might have declined. You're intellectually weak. There's nothing genuine. If someone claims to solve your karma, it's fake."

"Karma can be solved through your current actions, but the past is finished. It's done. You can't undo past karma. Undo the fabric, and now this fortune-teller is undoing the fabric to escape the consequences, finding ways out and down."

"Hundreds and thousands of other people—why aren't they targeted? Because your face isn't good, you're ugly. If you had a good face you wouldn't escape. Why haven't I been targeted? I went to a kind teacher—yes, because your face isn't right. Make your face good first. Your face, your skin, your body—make those good first. Your face is that ugly; who would go grab and massage your karma? He only massages pretty karma, good karma, clean karma. Being stupid yet pretending to be smart, defending foolishness. Nonsensical and baseless."

"Even those practicing Buddha's teachings decline. What do we expect from those not practicing his teachings at all? What won't decline?"

"Not being targeted doesn't mean you're not evil. It just means the truth hasn't been revealed yet. No one has actually been victimized, or no one is brave enough. But when one person comes out, then everyone gets brave and starts coming out too. Some don't dare speak—they're embarrassed, they fear people will think they're stupid. Those who speak want to help society by exposing this evil person as wicked and depraved."

"At the level of business owners, famous celebrities, famous influencers—they can't find a doctor to cure them, so they go solve karma, solve karma to satisfy desire. These trend-pushing celebrities went and felt good, went and succeeded, went and got aroused—what's arousing? Getting possessed, aroused."

News: Famous mystic announces closing his establishment.

Royal Irrigation Department Advances Environmental Impact Study for Yom River Water Gates to Combat Super El Niño Drought

Thailand's Royal Irrigation Department is building three water gates across the Yom River basin in northern provinces to manage recurring droughts and floods affecting over 60,000 rai of farmland, with environmental protections and communit

8 May Khaosod

The Royal Irrigation Department is accelerating implementation of systematic water management projects in the Yom River basin through construction of water control structures in the upper and lower sections across Phayao, Phrae, Phichit, and Nakhon Sawan provinces to address water shortages in agricultural areas and enhance capacity at existing pumping stations.

Dr. Phormmongkhol Chidchop, director of the Water Management Development and Participation Division at the Royal Irrigation Department, explained that the Yom River basin suffers from recurring floods and droughts due to inadequate water control and storage infrastructure. During the rainy season, water flows unused, while the dry season brings severe water shortages. The project adopts a "stepped water retention" concept, with three pilot projects selected based on engineering, economic, and environmental impact criteria.

The three selected projects are:

1. Ban Pa Khhaem Water Gate Project in Moo 4, Ban Pa Khhaem, Ban Maang Sub-district, Chiang Muan District, Phayao Province, benefiting over 3,000 rai of rice paddies, longan, teak, rubber plantations, and mixed crops.

2. Den Chai Water Gate Project in Moo 4, Ban Nam Khong, Den Chai Sub-district, Den Chai District, Phrae Province, benefiting approximately 30,469 rai across 10 sub-districts and supplying water to the Den Chai Provincial Waterworks Authority.

3. Tha Nang Water Gate Project in Moo 4, Ban Tha Nang, Tha Nang Sub-district, Pho Tha Le District, Phichit Province, covering approximately 27,375 rai across 10 sub-districts for rice, bananas, citrus, fruit trees, cassava, and sugarcane cultivation.

Combined, the three projects will benefit approximately 60,844 rai across Phayao, Phrae, Phichit, and Nakhon Sawan provinces. Dr. Phormmongkhol stated that the areas are technically suitable and strategically distributed across the upper, middle, and lower Yom River basin. The projects prioritize environmental protection through environmental impact assessments, fish passage designs, water level management, and continuous water quality monitoring. Affected landowners will receive fair compensation according to law, and public participation is ensured at all stages.

Simultaneously, the department organized site visits to the existing Ban Doi Isaan Water Gate Project in Ang Thong Sub-district, Chiang Kham District, Phayao Province, which uses a similar approach to mitigate flooding and drought in the Ing River basin, allowing stakeholders to examine concerns and compare implementation methods.

Becky G Teases Stunning Cannes 2026 Look! Feeling the Pressure But Ready to Enjoy the Moment

Becky G is heading to Cannes 2026 with a secret red carpet look in mind, admitting to feeling some pressure from fan expectations but determined to stay present and enjoy the moment during her brief two-day trip.

8 May Khaosod

Countdown to the Cannes red carpet! Hot actress Becky G Rebecca Patricia Armstrong is preparing to jet off to the 2026 Cannes Film Festival this year. Even though she'll only be there for two days, her schedule is packed with work and stunning fashion moments.

Becky recently spoke about her preparations after attending the ECLIPSE 'Get Fresh After Meal' candy launch today (May 7, 2025) at TCDC Bangkok's central post office building in Bang Rak. She admitted to feeling slightly pressured by fan expectations, but this time she wants to enjoy the moment and cherish every memory. She revealed she's pushing forward with full international work—music, fashion, and acting projects with foreign teams—and hopes to try English-language films in the future. She's also preparing a new series called "Sane Hah Waai Yo" and will release her first single from her EP for fans to follow.

Cannes 2026 is almost here! How are you preparing? "I'm thinking about what kind of look I want to bring, but I'm not telling yet—keeping it a secret! Honestly, this Cannes trip is super short, just two days, so everything's packed. I'm so excited. I've done a lot of prep work, but I'm trying to keep it natural. From going before, what I've learned is: whatever happens, let it happen. I'll learn in the moment and just enjoy it."

Do you have a red carpet look in mind? "Yes! The red carpet look takes a lot of thinking about the direction I want to go. I want everyone to watch and hopefully everyone will be amazed, right? (laughs) Like I said, it's just two days, so I'll be changing outfits quite a bit. But the day fans will probably see the most is when I walk the red carpet."

Does it feel pressuring because people are expecting a certain look? "A little bit, honestly. But I don't want to pressure myself. In the early years, I'd worry about not stumbling or whatever, and then I'd stumble (laughs). Now I'm just letting it be natural and enjoying it. Time goes by so fast, but these become memories that stay with us forever."

Are you secretly thinking about how to make the camera catch you in the most stunning way? "I'll just flash my big smile! (laughs) Not sure if the camera will catch it. Honestly, it's such an exciting moment. I spend all day preparing, but the actual walk happens in a flash, and that moment stays with me forever. So I have to be really present. Am I still worried about stumbling? No, not anymore. That was early on. Now it's just fun!"

This round it's all work with no time to travel? "Right! It's all work with no breathing room (smiles). But I was thinking maybe I'll feel inspired to go for a morning run. The weather is nice so I want to run. It's the plan but whether I can actually do it, I'll tell you later (smiles)."

What's happening with your projects? "Soon there's the series "Sane Hah Waai Yo" on Channel 7 premiering on May 16th. I'm so excited to finally watch it! The shoot took quite a while, so I'm curious how it looks after post-production. And most recently, I released my song "Skin" as the first single from my EP. There will be more releases after that, and hopefully a tour will follow. I want to try being a singer because when the opportunity comes, I want to give it my all."

You're working with international teams on both music and acting? "Yes, I'm working with so many people right now, which means a lot of late-night meetings. With different time zones, besides Wild Group who handles my music work, I also work with CAA on the acting side.

Intellectual Property Department Sweeps Counterfeit Goods Across Four Southern Provinces and Samut Prakan, Seizes Over 700,000 Items Worth 50 Million Baht in Damages

Thailand's Intellectual Property Department seized over 709,000 counterfeit items worth approximately 50 million baht in damages during April 2025, conducting raids across four southern provinces and Samut Prakan. The enforcement operation targeted trademark-infringing goods including cosmetics, clothing, and accessories, resulting in 29 arrests. Officials warn consumers to purchase from authorized retailers and verify product authenticity, as counterfeit cosmetics now feature sophisticated fake packaging that closely mimics genuine products.

8 May Khaosod

The Ministry of Commerce's Department of Intellectual Property, in coordination with economic crime police and private rights holders, continues its aggressive campaign against counterfeit goods. In April 2025, authorities in Bangkok, surrounding areas, and other provinces made significant seizures of counterfeit products, particularly fake cosmetics.

Department Director Ormon Saoptavirattham emphasized that intellectual property infringement threatens economic security and directly harms manufacturers, business operators, and consumers while eroding the nation's competitiveness. The government and Commerce Ministry are committed to addressing this issue seriously through stricter inspections, rigorous law enforcement, and integrated cooperation among all sectors to prevent counterfeit goods from entering the market and to apprehend major offenders.

The department is also working to strengthen intellectual property protection standards to enhance Thailand's credibility in global trade and improve the nation's intellectual property protection status internationally.

During April 2025, enforcement teams conducted coordinated raids in major commercial and tourism areas across four southern provinces: Prachuap Khiri Khan, Surat Thani, Krabi, and Phuket. Officers seized counterfeit trademark products including bags, pants, shirts, eyeglasses, belts, bracelets, shoes, and hats.

Searches were also conducted at storage facilities in Samut Prakan following reports of online sales of counterfeit cosmetics. The raids uncovered large quantities of counterfeit cosmetics bearing fake brand trademarks.

April 2025 statistics show 709,786 items seized across 29 cases with an estimated economic loss of over 50 million baht. Officers arrested suspects and forwarded cases to investigators for prosecution.

Director Ormon noted that the enforcement operation successfully prevented illegal products from reaching consumers, protecting them from substandard counterfeit goods that may pose health risks—especially cosmetics. She warned that counterfeit cosmetics now feature increasingly sophisticated fake packaging nearly identical to genuine products, including counterfeit Thai labels and product registration numbers, which can easily mislead consumers.

The department urges the public to exercise caution when purchasing goods, especially online. Consumers should buy from authorized retailers or trusted sources, verify packaging for proper standards and integrity, and ensure prices are reasonable. Those with information about counterfeit goods sales can report through the IP Thailand website (www.ipthailand.go.th) under "Report Intellectual Property Infringement" or call the hotline 1368.
