25 Apr Khaosod

The initiative to elevate Thai fabric and handicraft products represents a continuation of Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana's royal vision under the "Thai Fabrics, Wear with Joy" concept, which aims to establish traditional Thai textiles in the international contemporary fashion market while building value from local knowledge and strengthening the nation's grassroots economy.

On April 25, 2569, the Community Development Department under the Interior Ministry conducted the first coaching session for royal pattern fabrics and handicrafts at IconSiam in the Central Region, with Department Director Siam Sirimonkol presiding, alongside foundation advisors, community development leaders, and provincial officials.

This initiative serves as a critical mechanism for driving community economic growth by elevating Thai fabric and handicraft products as models for producers, entrepreneurs, and weavers to develop their skills across all techniques, creating quality and diverse products with contemporary designs and patterns. The program also emphasizes sustainable fashion that can compete domestically and internationally, generating income and long-term opportunities for communities. Additionally, the program prepares producers, OTOP entrepreneurs, and weavers for the 2569 Royal Pattern Fabric Competition scheduled by the Community Development Department for August 2569.

Ex-Girlfriend Lures Victim Into Trap, New Boyfriend Attacks With Sharp Metal Scraper, Causing Serious Injuries

A man was stabbed in the back with a metal scraper and beaten by his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend and accomplices during an April 15 ambush in Chachoengsao, leaving him with a punctured lung and severe eye damage requiring surgery.

25 Apr Khaosod

On April 25, 2025, at 6:06 PM, Ms. Ariya (surname withheld), 38, and her son Turbo, 18, a third-year welding vocational student from a Chachoengsao college, came forward to report an incident that occurred on April 15. The victim explained that his ex-girlfriend, whom he had broken up with five months prior, had recently contacted him through chat. Although initially concerned about complications with her new boyfriend, he agreed to meet her for dinner at the location where the attack took place.

When he arrived, a group of teenage males confronted him. Her new boyfriend used a sharp metal scraper to stab him in the back, narrowly missing his lungs, while others punched him in the face, temporarily blinding him. Despite bleeding heavily and unable to see, the victim managed to ride his motorcycle to safety and seek help from friends who took him to the hospital.

His left eye suffered severe damage requiring lens replacement surgery, with uncertain prospects for full vision recovery. He also sustained a punctured lung wound that required blood drainage and is still under treatment. The mother expressed two main concerns: her son's eyesight and the slow police investigation. She believes the attack was motivated by jealousy from the ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend and called on Nong Prue police to gather evidence and arrest the perpetrators quickly. She also appealed directly to the attackers to turn themselves in, questioning why they would hurt her son so severely and reminding them that her son deserved a better future.

25 Apr Khaosod

A marshland fire erupted in Chumphon province on April 25, 2026, consuming approximately 100 acres in Moo 5, Na Cha-ang Subdistrict. The area's sandy soil, dense vegetation of acacia and eucalyptus trees, combined with periodic strong winds, caused the flames to spread rapidly across multiple points. Firefighting crews from Chumphon Provincial Administration Organization and several local municipalities rushed to the scene with a 6,000-liter water truck to suppress both ground and aerial flames, preventing further spread into residential and agricultural areas.

Local resident Ms. Sujitr reported the marshland, spanning 300 acres, caught fire around noon, prompting immediate alerts to community leaders and police. Firefighters from multiple agencies coordinated an urgent response. Initial assessments showed approximately 100 acres damaged across three fire points, with no reports of property loss to residents so far. However, residents noted such fires occur regularly during dry seasons, and despite efforts to control the blaze, embers repeatedly reignited throughout the evening, raising concerns the fire could persist overnight.

She has owned the property for four years. Of the 19 dogs in her care, five have died, which she believes were poisoned due to symptoms including foaming saliva and muscle rigidity.
