Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari presided over the opening reception of the historic world-class exhibition "Royal Thai Dress from Tradition to Modernity: La Mode en Majesté" at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France, bringing Thai cultural heritage to the international stage. The exhibition, organized by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs alongside the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles and the Thai Craft Promotion Institute under the patronage of Princess Sirivannavari, commemorates 340 years of diplomatic relations and 170 years of formal diplomatic ties between Thailand and France, while showcasing the beauty of Thai royal dress from its cultural roots to contemporary times on the world stage. Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) executives, including TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatrpaibuol, attended the opening ceremony as supporters of the "La Mode en Majeste" book publication featured in the exhibition, promoting Thai identity through the power of fashion, art, and fine craftsmanship to international audiences.
The historic global exhibition presents the beauty of Thai cultural heritage and the evolution of royal Thai fashion from the 1960s to present, featuring eight popular Thai dress styles, antique fabrics, fine handicrafts, and garments from late Queen Sirikit, current Queen Suthida, and Princess Sirivannavari, designed by Thai designers and renowned French designer Pierre Balmain, along with contemporary works from over 200 Thai designers across seven exhibition rooms that highlight fashion's role as a cultural and diplomatic bridge between Thailand and France. The SIRIVANNAVARI brand presents contemporary design works reflecting Thai identity and wisdom through an international fashion perspective, with three pieces selected by the royal patron in collaboration with MAD curators, alongside embroidery artworks from Sirivannavari Atelier & Academy, blending international garment structure with the elegance of Thai fabrics and fine craftsmanship. The exhibition runs through November 1, 2025, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France.
