Buunchued Temple Mystery Solved: Gold Found Intact Inside Sacred Hair Relic
Buunchued Temple in Pathum Thani opened its sacred golden hair relic under public scrutiny and confirmed authentic gold nuggets remain sealed inside, dispelling concerns about missing precious materials.
Case closed! Buunchued Temple in Pathum Thani has successfully opened and inspected the sacred golden hair relic (Phra Keshmala), confirming the gold is still inside. The temple denies any attempt to conceal the facts and commits to full transparency. Following widespread public concern about low gold content detected in initial testing of the Phra Keshmala at Buunchued Temple in Bang Poon subdistrict, Mueang district, Pathum Thani province, the temple conducted a formal inspection today with multiple witnesses present. Workers used an electric grinder to carefully cut the base of the relic, then gradually pried open the covering. Inside, they found a thick layer of plaster covering the cavity. Using a chisel, they carefully chipped away the plaster until golden chunks became visible. The full inspection revealed authentic gold nuggets sealed inside the relic's hollow chamber—the gold had not disappeared as some had speculated. The discovery brought relief and joy to the abbot, temple committee, and devotees. The temple firmly states it had no intention to hide anything and stands ready to disclose all details of the process for complete transparency. Special thanks to community leader Aw-Off of Bang Poon.
