Yamaha Thailand Racing Team made a strong start to the 2026 Asia Road Racing Championship Round 2 with excellent form during Friday's first day of practice at Chang International Circuit in Buriram. Team leader Tee Anupap Samuul, piloting the YZF-R6 number 500, dominated the Supersport 600cc class by setting the fastest times in all three sessions under clear skies. His lap times improved progressively: 1:40.162 in the first session, 1:39.529 in the second, and 1:39.402 in the third, establishing the quickest pace in the category.

In the Asia Production 250cc class, rising Thai star Idea Kritphat Khueankham of Yamaha Thailand Racing Team faced a penalty reduction of 200 rpm on his engine displacement due to championship point regulations. Despite this handicap, Idea showed strong form by leading the first two practice sessions and finishing the day in second place with a lap time of 1:52.116, just 0.323 seconds behind the leader. Fellow Thai rider Gas Theeranai Tabtim, competing on a wildcard entry, finished 14th with a time of 1:52.961 as he continued to gain familiarity with the circuit.

Qualifying for grid positions takes place Saturday morning, May 9, with the first race scheduled for Saturday afternoon. The second race will be held on Sunday, May 10, with live coverage on PPTVHD36 and online through the Asia Road Racing Championship official page.

Bruno Fernandes, midfield captain of Manchester United's "Red Devils" in the English Premier League, has been named Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season by the English Football Writers' Association (FWA). Fernandes showcased exceptional form this season, most notably through his playmaking ability, delivering 20 assists from 32 Premier League appearances while also scoring 8 goals. With nearly 900 FWA members voting, Fernandes received 45% of the votes, narrowly beating second-place finisher Declan Rice of Arsenal by just 28 votes. Erling Haaland of Manchester City came in third. This marks the first time a Manchester United player has won this award in 16 years, since Wayne Rooney's win in the 2009-10 season. On May 8, police arrested 30-year-old Chinese national Ming Chen Sun following a vehicle accident investigation, seizing five firearms including assault rifles and handguns, along with grenades, M75 explosives, and military ammunition. Officers were shocked to discover five C-4 explosives weighing 16 pounds each attached to a bulletproof vest with a remote-controlled detonation system, prompting an immediate evacuation order for residents within a high-destruction radius. Officials called in EOD teams to assess and neutralize the explosives, which were successfully disarmed at 8:41 PM.

Authorities also found fake identification documents including a Shan identity card, a Korean passport, and an American passport in the suspect's possession. Ming allegedly purchased the weapons and explosives from a social media contact three to four years ago and arranged delivery in Rayong Province. He claimed the C-4 devices were prepared for a suicide attempt due to depression, stating he had lived in Thailand for four years, previously operated a Chinese restaurant in Cambodia, and had dated a Thai woman before breaking up.

Phone records revealed videos of Ming test-firing weapons and using live chickens as target practice, along with footage of grenade detonation tests in water bodies and military weapons training—all allegedly conducted in Cambodia. The investigation remains ongoing with additional evidence collection in progress.

A delivery rider was left confused and frustrated after being told by a female customer to split the food bill with her. In the video clip posted on May 8 by the Facebook page 'Sopao – This Needs Attention,' the rider delivered an order but found himself in a heated argument. The customer claimed the system showed full payment was required, but explained she had called to ask why the restaurant status showed it was still being prepared. She questioned why there were so many orders at the restaurant and why the system indicated the food was still being prepared. The rider countered, 'How would I know how many orders the restaurant has? My job is just to wait.' The customer shot back, 'Why didn't you tell me the order was delayed? Why did you make me wait?' When the rider asked, 'What did I do wrong?' the customer responded, 'I'm explaining that this violates company policy.' The rider replied, 'Then I have to pay half the food cost?' The customer answered, 'Isn't that a company rule?' The rider firmly stated, 'No, there's no such rule about paying half, ma'am.' The customer then explained, 'This is my offer. You had already cancelled the order in the system, but you're waiting for the system to approve it, which it hasn't done yet. That's why I'm offering we split it.' The rider insisted, 'That's not okay. You need to pay the full 179 baht.' The customer continued, 'But you already cancelled it, it's just that the system hasn't processed it.' The rider argued back, 'It hasn't been cancelled yet, ma'am,' before the video ended.
