8 May Khaosod

Yamaha has unveiled the all-new AEROX SP, a next-generation 155cc super sport automatic scooter that pushes performance to new heights while carrying the sporting DNA of the R-Series family. The recommended retail price is 99,900 baht.

The Yamaha AEROX SP is equipped with an upgraded Blue Core 155cc engine developed for enhanced performance through reduced internal friction and a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system that ensures continuous acceleration across all speed ranges. It features forged pistons for added durability and an advanced hydraulic chain tensioner system that increases engine durability and stability.

The standout feature of the all-new Yamaha AEROX SP is the YECVT (Yamaha Electric Continuously Variable Transmission) system, which electronically controls power delivery through an ECU, allowing riders to freely choose their riding style. It offers two selectable Riding Modes:

T Mode (Town Mode) delivers smooth riding ideal for city driving and fuel efficiency S Mode (Sport Mode) adds excitement and responds to spirited riding styles

The Shift Down Function enhances acceleration for overtaking and can generate engine braking through button control, giving riders full command of performance.

For safety and control, the front wheel ABS prevents wheel lock during hard braking, while a large 230mm rear disc brake enhances stopping power. A Traction Control System (TCS) helps maintain wheel balance and reduces slipping in challenging road conditions.

Design-wise, it's sportier than ever with a full cowl featuring aerodynamic fairings to reduce wind resistance, a new strengthened frame that reduces chassis flex, and repositioned bodywork around the footpegs for better rider grip during spirited cornering.

The front suspension features a new inner front shock with a 30mm shock absorber axis for enhanced cornering stability, while the rear sub-tank suspension system absorbs impacts efficiently while reinforcing its sportiness.

Lighting includes dual projector LED headlights with daytime running lights, new R-Series-inspired LED taillights, and sporty LED turn signals. An Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) flashes a warning when braking hard, enhancing safety for riders and following vehicles.

Connectivity is enabled through a 4.2-inch TFT infotainment meter with a color display offering three screen modes, including a Track Mode for lap time recording like the R-Series instruments. The system supports Turn-By-Turn Navigation using Google Maps when connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone, plus a Y-Connect Application that monitors nine vehicle functions remotely.

It comes with a Smart Key System for easy engine starting, handle unlock, seat access, and fuel door operation, complemented by a front storage compartment with USB Type-C charging and a spacious 25-liter under-seat storage box large enough to hold a full-face helmet.

Excellence Through Strategy: How Traders Build Skills, Confidence, and Long-Term Performance

Successful trading, like elite sports, relies on structured decision-making and consistent risk management rather than individual trades or short-term results. Young investors are increasingly entering markets seeking higher risk exposure,

8 May Khaosod

What elite sports teach us about systematic decision-making, risk management, and consistency in trading.

Introduction

Outstanding performance is rarely determined by a single moment. In football, what happens on match day is the result of hundreds of hours refining movement skills, decision-making, and positioning—principles that apply equally to trading. Most traders focus on results, entry points, exit points, and short-term outcomes as their primary concern, but market structures are changing. Recent data reveals clear shifts in investor behavior. Research citing Finance Magnates found that 36% of self-managed portfolio investors currently seek high or very high risk, with this trend even more pronounced among younger investors. Fifty percent of Gen Z investors want increased risk exposure, and 60% plan to increase their investment risk levels in 2026. Meanwhile, participation is increasing steadily. Data from various industries show that 87% of Gen Z investors participate in the market regularly every month, compared to 68% of previous generations.

The problem is no longer about access—it's about execution.

In such an environment, performance is rarely determined by a single trade but comes from structure, decision-making methods, risk management approaches, and consistency in applying the process. The collaboration between EC Markets and Liverpool Football Club offers an interesting perspective. Despite different environments, the operational mechanisms align remarkably well—preparation, discipline, and execution under pressure.

1. Skill development starts with structure

In both trading and professional competitive sports, skills don't come from instinct but from training. Footballers play within clearly defined systems with structured positioning, movement, and decision-making to reduce uncertainty and improve long-term results. This doesn't mean uncertainty disappears, but rather creates a framework for better decision-making. Trading uses the same principle. Without structure, decision-making becomes mere reaction. Investors take opportunities from occasional signals or short-term market volatility instead of following an established framework. Over time, this creates inconsistency. Systematic traders typically prioritize:

- Simulating risk-to-reward ratios before opening positions - Sizing positions to align with account risk - Pre-determined criteria for entries and exits

These aren't advanced concepts, but applied consistently, they form the foundation of repeatable performance.

2. Confidence is built through repetition, not results

Trading confidence is often misunderstood. People tend to link it to profits, but in reality, confidence is built through repetition and consistent process application. This matters greatly because most traders don't have strategy problems—they have behavioral ones. Industry expert assessments show most short-term investors can't profit consistently, often due to poor risk management, overtrading, and emotion-driven decisions. In football, confidence comes from training and familiarity. Players rely on systems they've used repeatedly. For traders, the same principle applies.

Thailand's Forex Regulations: What Retail Traders Need to Know in 2026

Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission is reviewing forex margin requirements for the first time in seven years, while the Bank of Thailand has tightened documentation rules for foreign currency transfers, fundamentally reshaping the

8 May Khaosod

Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission is reviewing margin requirements for retail forex and CFD products for the first time in seven years, while the Bank of Thailand has tightened documentation rules for incoming foreign currency funds. Retail forex traders in Thailand will be affected by both of these changes within the next 12 months.

Has retail forex in Thailand ever changed this rapidly before?

Between November 2019 and the end of 2024, everything remained relatively stable, with minimal movement at best. The SEC oversees securities and derivatives, the Bank of Thailand manages foreign currency flows, and the remainder is filled by foreign brokers holding overseas licenses. Thai traders using ASIC or CySEC regulated forex brokers could transfer up to $15,000 per day into trading accounts. Everything was straightforward—currency pairs could be traded freely, though Thai baht remained restricted.

But now everything has changed, and here's what every trader needs to know going forward.

What the SEC is Actually Reviewing

A 1:20 leverage ratio is the level set by Singapore's Monetary Authority as the forex margin ceiling since 2019, while ASIC chose 1:30 for major currency pairs two years later. Thailand has not yet officially set a figure. The SEC's review of margin restrictions and customer suitability assessment measures, announced in early 2026, is still underway with no comprehensive ceiling announced yet. Everything will depend on how other ASEAN regulators proceed and domestic political factors.

Anyone using 1:500 leverage on offshore platforms should already see the direction. Licensed domestic brokers and foreign brokers will increasingly diverge on margin requirements.

Separately, regulators are also focusing on how brokers advertise projected returns and categorize customers by risk level. Income verification, trading knowledge questionnaires, and risk acknowledgment forms are becoming standard. Anyone who opened an account with a Financial Conduct Authority-regulated broker will be familiar with these processes.

But for newcomers in 2026, that's no longer familiar territory. The five-minute account opening process through foreign brokers is disappearing, or at least rapidly disappearing.

Bank of Thailand's Documentation Tightening

Banks must now verify documents such as sales contracts, invoices, and transaction purposes for spot foreign exchange transactions valued at $200,000 or more. Rules for incoming and outgoing funds have thus been harmonized at this level, which was not previously the case.

Retail traders transferring small amounts of thousands of baht are not directly affected. The $200,000 figure targets large capital flows.

What has changed in practice is banking behavior. Know Your Business checks have expanded significantly since January. Based on discussions in Thai trading forums, posts about transfers being rejected by banks have increased noticeably. It remains to be seen whether this results from new internal directives or is simply the banks' own caution.

Repeat transfers to foreign brokers, even if

Urgent: Strong Winds Topple Warehouse Under Construction, Collapsing onto Workers; Two Seriously Injured

Strong winds toppled a steel warehouse frame under construction in Si Racha, Chonburi, injuring two workers with head injuries on May 8, 2025.

8 May Khaosod

At approximately 3:30 PM on May 8, 2025, rescue units in Si Racha District, Chonburi Province, responded to a warehouse structure collapse at an automotive parts manufacturing facility in Nong Kham Subdistrict. Two construction workers sustained serious injuries and loss of consciousness with head lacerations and facial bleeding. Four workers were present at the scene; two others managed to jump away and escape. The collapsed steel framework also damaged two vehicles—a black HAWAL sedan and a white MG pickup truck.

According to witnesses, strong winds suddenly struck the construction site, lifting and tilting the steel framework, which then collapsed in a domino effect onto the workers below. The two injured workers were administered first aid by rescue personnel before being urgently transported to Laem Chabang and Viphavaram hospitals. Two additional vehicles sustained damage from the falling structure. Police arrived at the scene to document evidence and take preliminary statements from those involved. Further technical-level talks are scheduled for May 13-14, with a deadline of July 24 for the US to make its final determination.

8 May Khaosod

Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Supachee Panitchpakdi expressed confidence that Thailand can fully address all points raised by the US Trade Representative's office regarding the Section 301 investigation. Speaking after visiting the World of Coffee Bangkok 2026 event at BITEC, Supachee noted that one of the Thai team's key missions during last week's trip to the United States was to discuss the Section 301 investigation with the US Trade Representative's office (USTR). Thailand provided additional clarifications on issues the US had raised, following its formal response submitted on April 15, which addressed two major concerns: excess production capacity and forced labor standards. "The Thai side is confident that we can comprehensively answer all of the US questions, and there should be no additional points for the US to contest, as we have data and evidence supporting every issue," Supachee said. She added that further technical-level discussions between the two teams will take place on May 13-14, led by Commerce Ministry Assistant Minister Kirida Phaovisit, along with the trade negotiation team, Thai trade representatives, and the Foreign Ministry. Thailand and the US also discussed their overall trade relationship, with several outstanding issues from previous negotiations still pending. Both sides aim to reach conclusions by June before the US considers measures under Section 301 and Section 122, with a deadline of July 24.

Frozen Durian Seller Drives 1,600 km to Prove Customer Fraud After Mold Claim

A Chinese durian seller drove 1,600 kilometers and spent over 23,000 baht to prove a customer falsely claimed his frozen fruit was moldy to obtain a refund without returning the product. Finding only packaging materials in the customer's garbage bin, the merchant filed a police report against the suspected fraud. The case has reignited criticism about China's "refund without return" e-commerce policy, which many argue is being exploited by dishonest buyers while leaving merchants vulnerable to losses.

8 May Khaosod

A frozen durian merchant from Henan Province in China is seeking justice after suspecting a customer from Shandong Province of exploiting a system loophole by falsely claiming the durian arrived moldy to obtain a refund.

According to reports, the customer placed an order for frozen durian on April 26 and received it on April 28. The buyer then claimed the fruit was moldy, submitted photos as evidence, and requested a "refund only" without returning the product. When the merchant reviewed video footage from the packing process and compared it with the customer's photos, the durian in the images didn't match what was shipped. The merchant rejected the refund request and wanted to investigate further.

Although the order was only worth 190 yuan (approximately 710 baht), the merchant stated he would take full responsibility if the fault was his, but expected the customer to apologize and return the goods if they were at fault.

When discussions reached an impasse, the merchant made the extraordinary decision to drive to the customer's address himself to gather evidence. He made two round trips between Henan and Shandong covering over 1,600 kilometers and spent more than 5,000 yuan (approximately 23,000 baht) in expenses. He even searched garbage bins near the customer's home and found only packaging materials, not the moldy durian the customer claimed to have discarded.

On May 6, the merchant filed a police report and submitted evidence including videos, photos, and collected data. Police formally began their investigation on May 7.

This incident has reignited discussion about the "refund without return" policy on Chinese e-commerce platforms. While designed to protect consumers, critics argue the system is being exploited by some buyers who abuse loopholes to obtain free goods. Many merchants complain that platforms typically side with consumers during refund disputes, forcing sellers to waste time and money while scrambling to gather proof of their innocence.
