The Meteorological Department forecasted on July 3, 2025, that scattered to heavy and very heavy rain will occur in parts of the northern, northeastern, eastern, and western southern regions over the next 24 hours due to the monsoon troughs merging with tropical storm Maiskak and strong southwest monsoon winds covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Residents should beware of dangers from heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated precipitation that may cause flash floods and flash flooding, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying zones.
The upper Andaman Sea will experience strong winds with waves 2-3 meters high, exceeding 3 meters in thunderstorm areas. The lower Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand will see waves around 2 meters, exceeding 2 meters in thunderstorm zones. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand are advised to navigate cautiously and avoid thunderstorm areas. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should remain ashore.
The tropical depression in the upper South China Sea has strengthened into tropical storm Maiskak and is forecast to move through the Paracel Islands and make landfall on southern China's coast between July 4-6, 2025, with no direct impact on Thailand's weather.
