Two police K9 dogs have begun duties inspecting baggage from Thai Airways passengers traveling from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Melbourne, Australia, with no contraband found.
At 6:30 a.m. on July 7, 2569, Lt. Gen. Siam Bunsomwong, Police Deputy Commissioner, ordered the K9 Dog Unit led by Col. Sukrit Mangkalachawat, Maj. Aphivat Chulwongse, Maj. Phaspong Khloyyarun, Capt. Praphasorn Krudsap, and Pol. Capt. Yutthana Chachumwong to deploy two K9 dogs with Suvarnabhumi Airport staff to screen for narcotics. The team inspected baggage from passengers on the outbound level 4 of Thai Airways Flight TG 461 bound for Melbourne, Australia, departing at 8:10 a.m. No illegal items were discovered.
This inspection follows a transport ministry directive requiring the Civil Aviation Authority to issue new measures to all airlines, including prohibiting crew from accepting suspicious baggage, enhanced X-ray staff training, upgraded intelligence operations, and additional K9 dogs deployed from the Royal Thai Police.
