Police have filed charges against a shooting instructor and naval officer accused of supplying firearms to a Chinese man, who has refused to cooperate and has not eaten since his arrest. The case began when officers apprehended Ming Chen Sun, a 31-year-old Chinese national, and A. Yu-Hsin, a 33-year-old Taiwanese woman, following a car accident in Na Chom Thian Police Station area. During the vehicle search, police discovered firearms and magazines. This led to a search of a residence on Soi Huay Yai, where authorities seized military weapons, high-impact explosives, anti-personnel mines, and 10 hand grenades, along with bomb-making equipment and large quantities of fuel. On May 11, 2569 (2026), police brought in shooting instructor Kachen, Lieutenant Commander Metha from the Royal Thai Navy, Watcharin, Lieutenant Commander Pathaom, a former naval officer, and Jamlawng, 51, for questioning as suspected firearms suppliers to the Chinese national. All three have been questioned for several hours. Police have charged them with illegal possession of unlicensed firearms and joint trafficking in unlicensed weapons. Yu-Hsin is being held in the second detention cell at Na Chom Thian Police Station, while Ming Chen Sun is held at the Chachoengsao Provincial Immigration Detention Facility under heavy police watch. Ming Chen Sun has refused to cooperate with investigators and has declined to eat, consuming only water. He is expected to be transferred back to Pattaya Provincial Court detention this afternoon.
