Jürgen Klopp is set to become Germany's next national team coach after reaching an agreement with the German Football Association, ending his two-year break following his Liverpool departure. The former Liverpool manager says his batteries
Jürgen Klopp, former Liverpool manager, has announced that his two-year break has given him the energy he needs and he is ready to return as head coach of the German national team. Multiple international media outlets confirm that the German Football Association (DFB) has been in contact and reached an agreement with Jürgen Klopp to take over the German national team following Julian Nagelsmann's resignation after Germany's group stage exit from the World Cup. The only remaining step is discussions with Red Bull, Klopp's current employer where he serves as football director. On this matter, Klopp previously stated that after stepping away from coaching Liverpool since 2024, he is now fully energized and ready to return as a manager. "Two years ago I stopped because I was burnt out, but now my batteries are fully charged and I'm 100 percent ready," he said. Furthermore, Paul Joyce, the renowned Times correspondent, reported that Pep Lijnders, Klopp's former assistant manager at Liverpool, has shown strong interest in returning to work as his right-hand man in the German national team setup. Lijnders is currently without a club after parting ways with Manchester City as part of Pep Guardiola's coaching staff who left the club. Previously, he had coached Red Bull Salzburg but was sacked after just 29 matches. Meanwhile, Peter Krawietz, another of Klopp's trusted assistant coaches and analyst, whose contract with RB Leipzig recently expired, is also ready to join the German national team's coaching staff.
