Fresh from the Temple – New App Showcases the Beauty of Wat Arun
Wat Arunrachwararam has launched a multilingual mobile app offering virtual tours and detailed histories of the temple's ancient monuments and artifacts, available in Thai, Chinese, and English for tourists worldwide.
Phra Phrom Wachirmethi (Somkiate Kovito), a member of the Mahathera Samagom and abbot of Wat Arunrachwararam, along with the temple's monks, are working together to develop Wat Arunrachwararam comprehensively.
Previously, Phra Phrom Wachirmethi tasked the "Arun Temple Tour App" team, led by Weeradej Yoochandit (Tum), to film and narrate the history of the murals inside Wat Arunrachwararam's main ordination hall.
The launch of the "Arun Temple Tour App" features Phra Wachirratanaraphorn (Chumporn Nitisaro), secretary of Wat Arunrachwararam, who presented the concept of showcasing the beautiful ancient monuments and artifacts within the temple to Thai and international tourists. The app presents stories about Wat Arunrachwararam's historic sites and artifacts through an online platform.
The application features content in three languages—Thai, Chinese, and English—allowing tourists worldwide to access and understand detailed information about the monuments and artifacts within the temple. Visitors can select their preferred language and enjoy a 360-degree virtual tour of Wat Arunrachwararam. Filming began on April 20, 2025.
The "Arun Temple Tour App with Your Holiness" at Wat Arunrachwararam is guided by the temple abbot, featuring Weeradej Yoochandit (Tum), a YouTube content creator and host of "The Asian" program on Channel 9. The team presents the beauty of the temple's monuments, the history of Phra Prang Wat Arun, an architectural heritage of Bangkok, which is listed on UNESCO's Tentative World Heritage List.
Content is available on YouTube channels "Your Holiness" and "Arun Temple Tour App," as well as on Facebook pages and TikTok under the same names.
The program includes interviews with Phra Wachirratanaraphorn, the temple secretary, monks, and subject matter experts to provide comprehensive information about using and exploring the 360-degree application.
