Buddhist Amulet World – Commemorative Medal for Luang Por Phra's 92nd Birthday

Wat Khok Dok Mai's abbot emeritus Luang Por Phra Attasanto celebrated his 92nd birthday with a special commemorative somdej-style medal personally consecrated by the revered monk, featuring zodiac imagery and guardian yantra symbols.

30 Apr Khaosod

"Perfect oneself first before teaching others, lest you become a corrupt scholar," reads a dharma message from Luang Por Cha Subhaddo of Wat Nong Pa Pong in Ubon Ratchathani, written in 2015.

Luang Por Phra Attasanto, the revered abbot emeritus of Wat Khok Dok Mai in Saraburi Province, has reached his 92nd birthday and completed 72 Buddhist Lent observances. The temple committee and his disciples organized a celebration and commissioned a special commemorative medal—a somdej-style amulet marking his 92 years. The medal features a meditating figure on a pig (the year of his birth according to the Thai zodiac), with guardian yantra symbols on either side of his head. Thai script reads "Phra Kru Wichit Chayanurak, Luang Por Phra Attasanto, celebrating 92 years of age." The reverse side displays a four-directional yantra design with Khmer script and temple information. Luang Por Phra personally consecrated these medals individually, each with a code and numbered sequence, and they are expected to be highly sought after.

The article also explores the history of commemorative Buddhist medals, including the rare "Chap Po Yi Lo Han" medal created in 1891 during the reign of King Rama V to commemorate his ordination, featuring 18 arhat figures in Chinese Mahayana Buddhist style.

Other notable examples include Luang Por Kaew Prom Saro of Wat Phuang Malai in Samut Songkhram, whose egg-shaped medals from 1916 are rare and expensive, and Luang Pu Sadhu Sukdhamma of Wat Ban Lae in Maha Sarakham, who created only three sets of amulets, with his somdej medals from 1966 available in both large and small versions with different metals.

Say Goodbye to Risk, Elevate Your Business! Discover Why Leading Organizations Trust Autel Drones from ARV

There's no denying that today, using drones or unmanned aerial vehicles for surveying large structures, monitoring industrial areas, or even conducting rescue operations is no longer a distant concept. Unmanned aerial technology has become a crucial tool that enhances safety and improves work efficiency for various businesses.

However, the major challenge many organizations and procurement departments face before deciding to adopt drones in their operations is choosing a trustworthy partner or authorized distributor.

When sourcing enterprise-level drones, many companies tend to make decisions based primarily on initial price and purchase from independent importers, online channels, or uncertified equipment. While these options may appear cost-effective and help save budgets in the short term, in a business environment filled with risks, such decisions can become vulnerabilities that force organizations to address problems later and bear enormous hidden costs.

Hidden Costs and Invisible Business Leaks

In time-sensitive missions such as inspecting cracks in offshore drilling platforms or searching for missing persons, if a drone system suddenly malfunctions, the consequences extend far beyond equipment damage—it means complete operational stoppage, with damage costs far exceeding the price difference of the equipment.

Organizations that procure drones from non-official sellers typically bear all risks themselves when equipment fails. This includes lack of specialized technicians for maintenance, risk of non-standard parts replacement, and delays in repair services.

Moreover, the most concerning issue is legal risk. Improperly imported drones cannot be registered with Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and cannot obtain third-party liability insurance. This significantly increases risk during operations and prevents registration with Thailand's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT), as such equipment cannot meet CAAT's requirements. Additionally, flight authorization cannot be obtained.

Greater Confidence When Choosing Autel Drones with ARV: Thailand's True Drone Technology Expert

To enhance capabilities and elevate enterprise-level drone usage standards across various business, industrial, and government sectors—including structural inspections of important public and private infrastructure, surveying and mapping, monitoring environmental changes, traffic services, wildlife surveillance, fire monitoring, and public safety operations—AI and Robotics Ventures Limited (ARV), Thailand's advanced robotics and artificial intelligence development specialist, has stepped in as an integrator, technology provider, and Official Authorized Distributor for Autel Robotics, a global leader in drone technology.

ARV has also developed its own platform for centralized data consolidation and fleet management, designed to seamlessly integrate with Autel Robotics systems. This enables comprehensive monitoring of drone status and mission operations.

International Boxing Association Sets Sights on 1 Gold, 1 Silver at Asian Games – Announces 1 Million Baht Prize for Medalists

The Thai Amateur Boxing Association has set a target of winning one gold and one silver medal at the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan (September 19 - October 4), acknowledging the fierce competition from nations like India, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. The association is actively preparing its limited roster and offering substantial prize money—1 million baht for gold medalists—while also exploring additional heavyweight competitors to strengthen the team.

30 Apr Khaosod

Pichai Chunnawachir, president of the Thai Amateur Boxing Association, has set ambitious goals for the upcoming Asian Games in Japan, targeting one gold and one silver medal. Acknowledging the fierce competition from over 40 countries including India, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, the association held its annual general meeting via video conference in Thonburi on April 30th to discuss preparation strategies and annual operations.

The Thai boxing team faces significant challenges with limited roster depth, particularly in heavyweight divisions. Key contenders include Punrawee Ruenros, who may need to move up in weight class due to her division not being featured at the Games, and Natsnicha Chongprongkiang, who needs to improve her recent performance. The association is also exploring adding a tall heavyweight boxer—standing 194 cm—currently in a weight-loss program aiming to drop from 150 kg to 130 kg.

Regarding concerns about boxing's absence from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, association officials affirmed that World Boxing and the International Olympic Committee are working together on multiple tournaments and assured that boxing will definitely be included, leaving two years for countries to prepare their teams.

Additionally, Deputy President Police Colonel Phanurat Lukbun confirmed financial incentives for medalists at the Asian Games: 1,000,000 baht for gold, 500,000 baht for silver, and 300,000 baht for bronze.

30 Apr Khaosod

Good Fortune and Bad Fortune Friday, May 1, 2569 By [Astrologer]

Aries (Lukhna) Today you may feel more exhausted with work than usual and might need temporary sick leave due to illness or fever, but elders will care for you well. If you're seeking domestic help, you may coincidentally find a foreigner from a different culture. You'll help friends or relatives with financial problems.

Taurus (Lukhna) After working quietly for several days, you'll no longer hide your completed work and new projects. You'll share good news with family and colleagues—such as increased production and greater profits. Environmental and natural changes will have no physical or mental impact on you.

Gemini (Lukhna) You'll face domestic troubles such as termites or various pests in your home. Avoid hosting celebrations at home as someone may try to sneak illegal items inside. Coworkers may secretly drink alcohol and gamble in the office, or engage in improper conduct.

Cancer (Lukhna) You'll encounter people and situations with unusual customs that don't suit you well. Criticizing or disagreeing with their behavior may upset superiors. Beware of unseen enemies or losing valued possessions unexpectedly. Your romantic partner brings you happiness.

Leo (Lukhna) You'll acquire property through unusual or luck-based means, but avoid buying or trading old valuable antiques as you may be easily deceived. Jupiter in your sign makes you cautious about finances. Foreigners may act contrary to your interests.

Virgo (Lukhna) You'll feel tired of socializing and reluctant to talk to many people you know. Even if you share your opinions, people often won't listen or believe you. You may lose some benefits helping certain friends, but only temporarily. Single natives may reconnect with an old flame. Those in relationships may show more attention to family than to partners.

Libra (Lukhna) You'll feel exhausted and lose motivation for work, unlike before. Mars is transiting in an unfavorable position, draining your current energy reserves. Close associates may fall under opposing influence, and weaker colleagues may become adversaries. Superiors won't offer support.

Scorpio (Lukhna) Focus especially on work as conflicts with coworkers may arise. Approach everything with composure and caution. You haven't yet solved your own financial problems. Sudden illness may occur while traveling. Enemies will create disturbances with excessive talk.

Sagittarius (Lukhna) You'll complete work correctly according to superiors' intentions. Be especially careful with documents and paperwork. Valuable and beautiful items placed elsewhere may be damaged. Work is the source of your wealth, money, and luck. Associates understand and sympathize with your work performance well.

Capricorn (Lukhna) If you have regular income such as a salary or pension, someone will tempt you to invest by promising great returns. Verify carefully whether this violates ethics, as they may lead you into gray-area business or illegal activities that create heavy debt without you realizing it.

Diverse and Delicious – Nai Khom Jao Kao: A Nangwongwan Institution and Night Owl Favorite

Nai Khom Jao Kao is a legendary late-night restaurant on Nangwongwan Road in Bangkok, famous for its signature dry noodles with red pork, crispy pork, and Chinese sausage, along with chicken oil rice and red pork rice. The restaurant distinguishes itself by making nearly everything in-house, including roasting its pork over charcoal, and is known for generous portions at affordable prices starting from just 50 baht. Operating from 8 PM to 3:30 AM, it has been a cherished night owl destination for over 20 years.

30 Apr Khaosod

When discussing late-night "roadside stall" style restaurants that have long captured the hearts of food lovers in the Nangwongwan Road area, one name that immediately comes to mind is "Nai Khom Jao Kao" – a single-dish restaurant featuring a complete menu of popular items including red pork rice, chicken oil rice, duck noodles, and chicken noodles.

However, the signature dish that keeps customers hooked and coming back is the 'dry noodles with red pork, crispy pork, and Chinese sausage,' served generously with all the toppings and no skimping. The restaurant's main standout lies in its ingredients – nearly everything is made in-house. The red pork is roasted over charcoal, giving it a distinctive aroma, while the crispy pork is roasted until the skin tightens before being fried to perfect crunchiness with every piece. This adds a depth of flavor distinctly different from ordinary restaurants.

Another bestselling menu item is the chicken oil rice, made with premium grade A chicken – large, tender, never mushy – cooked in authentic chicken fat for that traditional fragrant, oily rice. The red pork and crispy pork rice comes in traditional gravy style with a sweet, well-rounded flavor, served complete with red pork, crispy pork, Chinese sausage, and boiled eggs.

What's particularly special and hard to find elsewhere is the ability to "mix and match" your order however you like – whether adding crispy pork and red pork to chicken oil rice, or extra Chinese sausage, you can customize your single plate however you want. This satisfies those who want to load everything onto one plate. Beyond that, the restaurant is famous for being extremely generous, especially with fresh fried garlic and pork cracklings made fresh daily and served with an open hand.

With starting prices of just 50 baht, despite rising ingredient costs, the shop maintains its pricing to look after longtime customers – clearly reflecting a philosophy of "people first, profit second."

The shop operates late-night hours from 8:00 PM to around 3:30 AM (some nights it may close as early as 1:00 AM) and closes every Tuesday.

The restaurant is located on Nangwongwan Road in Bangkok. Coming from the Kasetsart University-Nangwongwan-Phongphet Underpass, it's about 300 meters past Klong Prem Prison, before reaching the Phongphet intersection.

It's perfect for night-shift workers or food enthusiasts looking for hot meals in the wee hours. Over more than 20 years, "Nai Khom Jao Kao" remains a beloved favorite of Nangwongwan residents – a must-stop for anyone passing through late at night. For true food lovers, there's only one thing to say: "Don't miss it."

With over 3 tons of carefully curated Monthong durians served fresh daily plus an extensive seafood selection, this year's edition promises the ultimate culinary experience with added value for content creators.

30 Apr Khaosod

The wait is finally over for the annual durian extravaganza at Baiyoke Hotel's iconic durian buffet. Every year it's packed with fame and glory, with each seating completely full daily and reservation cards sold out months in advance. Customers have been clamoring for this event since before the durian even blooms. Before you know it, ten years have passed. The organizers are announcing this year as extra special to honor the prestige of this legendary buffet.

"Baiyoke Durian Fever Buffet" previously featured "durian and seafood," but in 2026 they're adding a heavyweight champion: "steak." The buffet's triple threat—"durian, seafood, and steak"—is priced at 1,290 baht net with no additional charges, regardless of rising oil prices. That's the advance booking rate, though walk-in guests will be charged the standard rate of 1,490 baht per person.

Included with your meal are passes to view the 77th floor and the rotating rooftop platform on the 84th floor for taking stylish photos and creating content. This year won't disappoint in any way.

The event runs for 45 consecutive days from May 1 to June 14, 2026, at Bangkok View Restaurant on the 76th floor of Baiyoke Sky Hotel, with seven seatings daily from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM, each lasting 90 minutes. Eat until you're completely satisfied before heading out.

The durians here are delicious and carefully graded for guaranteed quality, featuring premium Monthong varieties from orchards in Rayong and Chanthaburi—plenty of flesh and small seeds, never disappointing. They're peeled piece by piece and plated for you to choose from. You can sample before picking, and switch if something doesn't suit your taste until you find your favorite. The restaurant's popularity speaks volumes—the minimum daily durian order is over 3 tons.

The new "steak" menu was added in response to customer requests in comments and feedback. They serve beef, pork, and chicken, with beef being the star—grilled with fragrant fat and paired with savory dipping sauce that's absolutely divine. The meat is so tender it melts in your mouth.

The seafood selection is comprehensive, including river shrimp, white shrimp, clams, and squid, prepared grilled, blanched, or in tom yam. Signature dishes like waterfall hot pot, rice mixed with seafood fish sauce, fried rice with thick seafood omelet, and more remain consistently excellent.

Desserts include sticky rice with coconut milk and durian, and mango sticky rice—saving room for these is essential. That's just a glimpse; the delicious offerings continue throughout the hotel.

Reservations are recommended through the hotel website at https://baiyokebuffet.com/detail/Durian2026, available 24/7. Bank transfers are convenient, fast, and safe from fraud.
