Actress Loses Weight For Prostitute Role In New Film
Actress Lilly Nguyen lost 7-8 kilograms in two months to portray a prostitute in the film 'SOS: One Wrong Step, Life Changes,' which premiered July 2nd at Major Cineplex Ratchayothin.
Actress Lilly Nguyen has landed a leading role in the film 'SOS: One Wrong Step, Life Changes,' playing a prostitute—a role she'd previously joked about on the talk show 'Noh Krasor.' The director ordered her to lose as much weight as possible to authentically portray the character, who is the estranged mother of a heartbroken daughter played by child actress Zo Ling, daughter of Emmy Makimaki.
At the film's premiere on July 2nd at Major Cineplex Ratchayothin, Lilly gave an interview discussing her preparation. She revealed that she lost 7-8 kilograms in 1-2 months, eating almost nothing most days. "The director ordered me to lose weight right away," she said with a laugh. "I really had to cut back severely—skin and bones. But I told him that's the most I could do. These days I barely eat anything. When you don't eat, you get stressed, and on set I use that irritability to yell at my character's daughter, even though she didn't do anything wrong. It's genuine anger mixed with hunger."
She expressed pride in achieving the role she'd mentioned wanting on the talk show, though she acknowledged the financial struggles of being an actress. "Honestly, I'm almost broke now," she admitted. "I just called my friend recently and asked him to help me out. I told him I have nothing to eat. I suggested we do a live stream to sell his things so I could afford food."
When asked about her financial situation, Lilly elaborated on her difficult circumstances and mentioned a man who had pursued her romantically, requesting 100,000 baht for a dinner date as a test of his financial capability to support her. She noted his failure to follow through on the arrangement and reflected on her current survival through selling assets.
