Influencer Pond Apologizes, Returns With Corrected Content Format
Popular influencer Pond apologized for using journalists' footage without credit and pledged to deploy field reporters starting July 1 to gather news independently.
Popular influencer Pond has posted another apology and announced plans to return to content creation with a reformed approach. Starting next month, the Pondonnews page will deploy field reporters to gather news firsthand. This comes after social media backlash over accusations that Pond used footage and images from field journalists without proper credit or attribution in his reporting.
On June 30, the Pondonnews Facebook page posted Pond's statement: "Hello, I'm Pond from Pondonnews. First, I must apologize again to all the journalists, reporters, news channels, and production teams affected by recent events. I have reflected on my actions and reviewed my content format. Starting today, my team and I are ready to correct our content creation methods to ensure accuracy. From July 1 onwards, I will have a field team representing my channel to gather news information directly. I will take this incident as a lesson to improve myself with greater care and attention than before. I sincerely apologize and thank everyone for their guidance and suggestions. I am willing to listen and correct any mistakes, and I am committed to improving myself. Thank you – Pondonnews."
In the comments section, Pond also posted an image of a microphone branded with the Pond on news logo.
