Thailand's women's football team is one of 12 finalists in the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup 2026 in Paris, representing a powerful demonstration of social inclusion through football, the world's most beloved sport. Nearly half a million Special Olympics athletes currently play football worldwide.

This marks the first time Thai Special Olympics athletes have qualified for a world-level football competition, showcasing Thailand's capabilities, determination, and pride on the global stage.

Dr. Kongsakd Yodmani, Director-General of the Sport Authority of Thailand, spoke about the broader sports promotion policy and the significance of this competition: "From Thailand's sports perspective, the Thai women's football team's participation in this competition is critically important to Thai sports and Thailand's international image. The significance extends beyond competition results—it demonstrates that sports is a space of opportunity for all athletes, including those with intellectual disabilities. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Thailand, a major racing team with 40 years of continuous success in Thai motorsports under the support of Toyota Motor Thailand Company Limited, kicked off the 2026 racing season with intensity, competing in the TSS The Super Series by B-Quik at Chang International Circuit in Buriram (May 21-24, 2026). The team fielded seven Toyota vehicles across four classes and delivered outstanding performances.

In the TSS Super Car GTC class, the GR Supra GTC (#24) driven by Natthavut Chareonsukhawattana and Na Dol Wattanatharm claimed first place in Race 1, while the Corolla Altis GTC (#37) piloted by Natthapong Hotongkam and Manat Kullapalanat finished second in Race 1 before winning Race 2.

In the Super Touring category, the Yaris ATIV (#25) with drivers Narusmee Abiwat and Aitun Attadahorn secured podium finishes (1st and 2nd) in the Touring-NA class. The Yaris ATIV HEV (#67) driven by rookie Mario-Sitthichai Khangnimit finished 10th and 9th in the same class.

The TSS Supercar GT4 class saw the GR Supra GT4 (#19) driven by Sutthipong Smitchai and Kran Suphapong finish 2nd and 3rd in the GT4 Am class, while the #11 car with Akrapong Akninitrot and Krit Vasutrat ended 2nd and 4th in the GT4 Pro class.

In the Super Pickup category, the Hilux Champ (#92) driven by Songsak Kornsirisuksakul finished 7th, 6th, and 5th across the three races in Pickup A class.

Team director and driver Sutthipong Smitchai commented on the opening round performance: "Overall, the first race was satisfactory. The team successfully captured championship titles, with all parties working together excellently. While there are areas to develop and improve, we've gathered important data from this opening to adjust settings and further enhance our vehicles for the next race. Our goal is to score maximum points at every round and secure championships in every class."

A Sing Buri family brought their land deed to lawyer Ratchapol Sirisakorn on May 24, 2569, seeking assistance. The group included 35-year-old Nathapol, 37-year-old Karakade, 73-year-old Calvin, and 72-year-old Kanyani, claiming they suffered hardship when forced to demolish their home and lost land to public road construction without compensation. Karakade explained the family had owned the property in Tambon Bangman, Muang District, Sing Buri for decades, inherited through their mother. Upon returning to settle on their own land, they discovered it had shrunk from 2 rai 23.7 square wah to just 1 rai 27 square wah—losing 100 square wah to government encroachment on both front and rear. When they objected to the municipality, officials claimed the 10-year-old encroachment was now state property and told them to accept it.

Kanyani recounted attempting to seek justice from the municipal president about the demolition, but was told to let it go. Within days, the municipality sent workers to demolish the house anyway. The shifting statements caused her blood pressure and diabetes to spike. Lawyer Ratchapol is now compiling documentation to file complaints with the Ministry of Interior and the government's complaint center, seeking damages for the unauthorized land encroachment for public purposes without the owner's consent.
