On May 13, 2025, Pol. Col. Sirichai Srichaipanya, commander of Nakhon Ratchasima City Police Station, announced progress in the case involving Paveena Hongsukul, chairman of the Paveena Hongsukul Foundation for Children and Women. Hongsukul accompanied the young victim nurse to Nakhon Ratchasima City Police Station to provide additional testimony before investigators and relevant officials. Deputy Commander of Chaiyaphum Provincial Police Pol. Col. Khachorn Setabuttattha also participated in the questioning.
Investigators are preparing to prosecute the police officer on three charges: 1) illegal detention and unlawful restraint, 2) physical assault, and 3) violations of the Computer Crime Act for filming and distributing obscene content on social media. The officer will be summoned to hear the formal charges within this week. Given the high level of public interest in this case and direct orders from superiors to proceed transparently, all violations will be prosecuted with full force.
Paveena Hongsukul stated that she contacted Police Region 1 Commander Pol. Gen. Surapong Thammapitak after learning of the incident. His office ordered Pol. Maj. Thawatchai Saykrasun, commander of Task Force 1, to immediately handle the case. This includes: 1) bringing the officer in for questioning at the police station, 2) conducting a drug screening test, 3) immediately transferring the officer back to his Bangkok-based unit, and 4) establishing a fact-finding investigation committee. If violations are confirmed, disciplinary and criminal proceedings will follow.
Additionally, Hongsukul revealed that the officer's drug screening test came back positive for controlled substances. The victim remains fearful and concerned about her safety, and is currently under the care and protection of the Paveena Hongsukul Foundation for Children and Women. The foundation will continue to closely monitor this case.
