In the shocking incident that occurred at 2:00 AM on May 12 in Nakhon Pathom's city district, the 54-year-old victim was shot in the head outside a nightclub. On May 13, Interior Department Director-General Naruja Khosasiwilaichit disclosed that he had immediately ordered Nakhon Pathom provincial and city district administrative offices to strictly enforce all applicable regulations and laws. The director-general also expedited the severe disciplinary investigation committee's work to gather evidence and complete findings as quickly as possible, ensuring clarity, transparency, and fairness to all parties involved. City District Officer Chotiphong Phlengwittaya suspended the subdistrict chief from duty pending the investigation into the facts and disciplinary process. Furthermore, the Interior Director-General instructed all district chiefs nationwide to strictly oversee and enforce disciplinary standards for subdistrict chiefs, village headmen, assistant headmen, subdistrict physicians, village security volunteers, and all administrative officials at every level, requiring them to conduct themselves within the bounds of law, regulations, and ethics. Any misconduct discovered must result in decisive action under both disciplinary and criminal procedures without exception, to maintain administrative standards and integrity while restoring public confidence.
