Rajamangala University of Technology Isan Nakhon Ratchasima Campus is advancing its 'Health & Wellness' strategy by integrating traditional herbal wisdom with scientific and innovation-based knowledge to improve quality of life, create economic added value, and promote sustainable wellness tourism.
On May 18, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khosit Sriputthro, Rector of Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, participated in a strategic meeting to outline implementation guidelines and development directions for the Nakhon Ratchasima campus under this concept at the Khamkun 2 Conference Room in the Research and Development Building.
Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaweng Sarnklom, Vice Rector for the Nakhon Ratchasima Campus, alongside administrative staff and personnel, is collaborating to develop innovations in traditional herbal products under the 'Indigenous Herbs and Wellness' framework. The initiative aims to enhance public health while generating income for local communities.
The project emphasizes transforming local knowledge of Thai herbs into innovative solutions integrated with scientific health expertise to meet the growing global wellness industry trends—encompassing natural products, preventive health care, and wellness tourism.
Research teams have identified modern health challenges such as office syndrome, muscle pain, stress, and chronic non-communicable diseases as key drivers for developing herbal products as accessible health alternatives.
The project is also viewed as a crucial mechanism for grassroots economic development by linking research, local resources, and health product development toward wellness tourism and long-term sustainable development across health, economic, and social dimensions.
