Gulf Development Public Company Limited and Gulf Jana Green Power Plant, partnering with the Southern Safety Association, conducted the "GULF Care Disaster Knowledge" training program at Jana Chanupatham School in Jana District, Songkhla Province. The program trained over 600 students and teachers to handle flooding and emergency situations correctly and safely, aiming to reduce disaster risks and losses while strengthening community resilience. The training covered both theory and practical skills through scenario simulations, including electrical hazards, fire, flooding, and earthquakes. Students learned prevention strategies, situation assessment, basic firefighting, CPR, first aid, and evacuation procedures. Following GULF's disaster relief efforts during the 2568 floods—when it provided over 9,000 relief packages and two motorboats—the company initiated this training program to prepare youth as community leaders capable of self-help and assisting others during emergencies. Students praised the program for its practical, hands-on approach, noting how the knowledge could be immediately applied to protect themselves and their communities. Teachers highlighted how the training complemented classroom learning with real-world applicable skills in disaster management.

A shooting outside Hin Khao Monastery in Tha Sae District, Chumphon Province on the evening of July 5 claimed the life of Thanongsak, 51, owner of the 'Chai Kae' coffee brand. Thanongsak, a well-known entrepreneur and community tourism advocate, died en route to the hospital.

Witnesses described the assailant as a man approximately 165 centimeters tall, aged 40-45, wearing dark clothing, a cap, and face mask, who arrived on an unidentified motorcycle, discharged a full magazine, and fled the scene. The victim's wife, Suticha, provided additional statements to police on July 6, and investigators collected CCTV footage from surrounding areas.

Four Zodiac Signs Set For Sudden Windfall

Four zodiac signs—Aries, Libra, Gemini, and Cancer—are poised for unexpected financial windfalls following Venus's transit on July 6, according to astrologer Ajarn White, with Aries experiencing the most dramatic surge in fortune.

Four Zodiac Signs Set For Sudden Windfall
2h ago Khaosod

Four zodiac signs are experiencing sudden fortune as money rushes toward them unexpectedly, with blessings falling into place and good news arriving as a surprise. During this period, each person's and each zodiac sign's destiny is shifting—changing for both better and requiring careful attention.

Astrologer Ajarn White reveals the fate of the zodiac signs following Venus's transit on July 6, 2569, naming four signs experiencing sudden windfall with money coming at them unexpectedly.

Rank 1: Aries. With Venus transitioning and the planet of finance aligning with the planet of luck, financial fortune begins from July 6, 2569 onward. Though this period brings many petty troubles and mental disturbances due to your ruling planet transiting the planet of death—with disappointments that lead to better things—the alignment of the financial planet with the luck planet means money rushes toward you unpredictably, not gradually but like a sudden explosion, world-class luck.

Rank 2: Libra. Your ruling planet enters the house of wealth, the spotlight shines on you, and fortune comes crashing in from all directions. Unexpectedly, someone brings you a major opportunity or major connections provide support. Your fortune shines no matter what you do. This period looks favorable to the powerful: "Those with virtue, beauty, and wealth are precise; help animals and fortune follows." Performing merit to aid animals accelerates luck's operation.

Rank 3: Gemini. Venus transits in favorable position and is still fortunate. Though many planets transit retrograde during this period, including your ruling planet, causing stress, health problems, depression, and insomnia for many, when Venus brings you new opportunities and new connections, it's truly the planet of rescue. In the darkest night, starlight shines brightest and guides you to a new, better, more radiant destination.

Rank 4: Cancer. Breaking the year's records with massive change! The energy of the main character about to be cut short is suddenly rescued by the prince's helicopter landing on a pile of gold. This is the genuine phenomenon of "blessings falling from above." In astrology, nothing surpasses having good stars fall on your fortune. When Venus, the planet of money, fully transits into your financial house precisely when life is worst—when money runs out, work disappears—good news arrives as a complete surprise.

Owner Files Formal Complaint After Disabled Cat Missing From Train
2h ago Khaosod

BANGKOK — On July 6, 2026, the owner of a disabled cat that vanished while travelling on a train from Yala to Bangkok formally requested that the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) investigate the incident as the search entered its seventh day.

The owner, supported by animal welfare organization The Hope Thailand, submitted an official complaint to the SRT on Saturday, demanding a full inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of her disabled cat and updates on the ongoing search along railway tracks in Chumphon province.

According to the complaint and social media posts, Si Som disappeared while travelling on Train No. 170 from Yala to Bangkok on June 29.

The owner said she originally intended to book seats in a fan-cooled carriage where the cat could remain with her throughout the journey. However, she was told that carriage was fully booked and was instead assigned to an air-conditioned carriage where pets are not permitted. Railway staff instructed her to place the cat in the train's luggage compartment.

She requested permission to keep the disabled cat with her due to its condition, but the request was denied. She also declined to stay overnight in the luggage compartment because only male staff were present.

According to the owner, railway staff told her the luggage compartment door could not be fully closed and that the cat would be returned to her at approximately 6:30 a.m. the next morning. However, she noted inconsistencies in accounts from railway staff. According to the complaint, one shift reported the cat was last seen near Lamae station, while another said it was discovered missing at about 3 a.m. as the train approached Lang Suan station. She requested the railway review the timeline and determine exactly what happened.

The complaint also focused on the condition of the pet carrier, which was found with both zippers fully open. The owner said this was highly unusual and argued that the disabled cat could not have opened the carrier by itself.

The owner urged the railway to review its procedures for safeguarding checked baggage, noting that passengers pay a luggage handling fee. She called on the SRT to accept responsibility and establish clear measures to assist passengers in similar situations.

The complaint requested a thorough inspection of Train No. 170, including possible deployment of sniffer dogs to assist in the search. A police report has also been filed to formally document the case and facilitate any necessary legal proceedings.

On Monday, the owner and volunteers planned to travel to Chumphon province to search the approximately 31-kilometre stretch of railway between Lamae and Lang Suan stations, where Si Som is believed to have disappeared. Search teams prepared more than 500 leaflets and banners for the operation.

BANGKOK — On July 6, 2026, Consumer Protection Police arrested two unlicensed beauty practitioners during raids on two houses in Bangkok and Samut Prakan, where they allegedly offered Botox and filler injections without medical licenses while promoting discounted cosmetic treatments online.

The raids were carried out by officers from the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD), working with the Department of Health Service Support under the Ministry of Public Health.

Authorities searched two properties—one in Bueng Kum district, Bangkok, and another in Samrong Nuea, Mueang district, Samut Prakan—after receiving information that both homes had been converted into makeshift cosmetic clinics. Police arrested two women, aged 31 and 25, who allegedly posed as doctors and offered Botox, dermal filler, and skin-enhancing injections despite having no medical licenses. Officers also seized a large quantity of medical supplies and unregistered injectable products.

The 31-year-old suspect admitted she had completed vocational education and worked at beauty clinics for six to seven years before opening her own illegal cosmetic service about two years ago. She told investigators she advertised on Facebook, offering promotional packages ranging from 790 to 4,990 baht. She said she treated two to five customers a day, earning approximately 100,000 to 120,000 baht per month, and purchased injectable products through online platforms.

The second suspect, aged 25, admitted she was not a doctor and had only completed high school. She said she gained experience while working at beauty clinics before starting her own business, initially serving friends before expanding through word-of-mouth referrals. She charged between 1,000 and 5,000 baht per treatment and told police she had operated for about two years, earning around 30,000 baht per month.

Both suspects were charged under the Hospital Act B.E. 2541 (1998) with allowing unlicensed persons to practice medicine at a medical facility. They were handed over to investigators for legal proceedings.

PATTAYA — 6 July 2026, A pickup truck taxi driver in Pattaya has been suspended for seven days after allegedly charging two Thai tourists 300 baht for a shared ride—normally 15 baht for most trips—even though the vehicle was already carrying several other passengers. The tourists said they were shocked by the fare and initially thought the driver was joking.

The Pattaya Transportation Cooperative took disciplinary action after one of the passengers shared the incident on Facebook, alleging they were charged an excessive fare for a trip from Runway Market Pattaya to Terminal 21 at about 23:00 on Sunday, despite the vehicle already being full of passengers.

According to the post, the driver claimed the requested destination required a charter fare. The passenger said they were not seeking a refund or upset about the money itself, but were deeply disappointed by the experience. As frequent visitors to Pattaya who had always encountered friendly locals, they said it was the first time they had felt taken advantage of.

Following the complaint, Thongchai Sukhochai, president of the Pattaya Transportation Cooperative Limited, said the cooperative immediately contacted the passengers to apologise and assure them that strict disciplinary action would be taken in coordination with the Department of Land Transport. He stressed that the cooperative would not protect drivers found to have violated the rules.

Thongchai said the driver was summoned for questioning and initially suspended for seven days, during which the vehicle must remain parked at the cooperative's office with a notice explaining the disciplinary action. The cooperative will also review the driver's disciplinary history before referring the case to the Chon Buri Provincial Land Transport Office for further consideration.

The driver apologised to the two passengers and the public. "It was raining heavily that night, and I am sorry for everything I did that harmed Pattaya's reputation," he said. "I apologise to the public and to the two passengers. I accept the punishment imposed by the cooperative and the transport authorities, and I want the opportunity to make amends."

Woman Admits Fault In Parking Dispute, Defends Social Media Posts

A woman whose parked car was damaged by debris from a neighboring property acknowledged her parking violation while defending her social media post about the incident as a legal question on property owner liability.

Woman Admits Fault In Parking Dispute, Defends Social Media Posts
2h ago Khaosod

A woman whose social media post about property damage sparked neighborhood controversy has acknowledged her parking violation was wrong while defending her decision to post about the incident as a legal case example.

On July 2, she parked her car across from a vacant house in her residential area while running errands. Upon returning home, she discovered brick fragments and building debris covering her car's roof. Security camera footage confirmed the material fell from the neighboring property. She attempted to contact the homeowner through community management, but the owner declined to discuss the matter and told her to pursue legal action independently.

After consulting a lawyer who said a lawsuit was possible but would cost more than the vehicle damage, she decided to post about the situation. She intended to raise a legal question about property owner responsibility and building maintenance liability—a situation that could affect any resident. However, public response focused primarily on her parking decision rather than the debris issue.

Regarding the parking criticism, she acknowledges this was a mistake and accepts responsibility, while noting the house was unoccupied and she had no intent to cause trouble. She remains uncertain about the homeowner's legal obligations to maintain the building's structural integrity.

She emphasized that hostile comments attacking her ancestry crossed a line and prompted her defensive posts. She expressed determination to pursue legal action against anyone making defamatory remarks about her family, though she will not pursue comments offering general criticism. She hopes her case becomes a reference point for others and requested legal experts clarify responsibility and liability in similar situations.

Despite a 3.11 percent decline compared to the same period last year, tourism trends are beginning to recover as the summer holiday season approaches for multiple countries.

Expectations for next week indicate further increases in foreign arrivals, supported by China's summer school holidays and the European tourism season.

As of July 5, 2025, cumulative data from January 1 to July 4 shows Thailand hosted 16.21 million foreign tourists, generating 782.5 billion baht in spending.
