Driver In Drug Delivery Case Has 20-Year Prison History
A 59-year-old driver with a 20-year drug trafficking conviction from 1997 has admitted to delivering narcotics to a Thai airline hostess arrested in Australia, leading police to investigate a broader smuggling network operating from Bangkok
On July 3, 2569, Deputy Police Commissioner Samran Nualma led a multi-agency task force including senior narcotics and criminal officers investigating the case of a Thai airline hostess arrested in Australia with drugs. Investigators determined that a package containing narcotics was delivered to Ms. Mina at a Bangkok condominium on June 22, 2569, by a man wearing a long-sleeved jacket and blue hood who arrived by Toyota. Police tracked the vehicle to its owner: a 59-year-old man from Ayutthaya with a lengthy criminal history. He received a 20-year sentence in 1997 after being caught transporting 10,000 methamphetamine pills from Chiang Rai to Bangkok. Under interrogation, he admitted to driving the delivery on June 22 and claimed he was hired by a foreign-looking man. He also confessed to delivering packages to another woman in the Soi Suea Yai area beforehand. The vehicle is now in an Ayutthaya shop undergoing window replacement and has been seized for forensic examination. Financial records confirm that the criminal network paid Mina 3,400 baht total: 1,700 baht as an advance and another 1,700 baht transferred on her flight date. Police are expanding the investigation to identify all network members involved. Officers from narcotics and criminal divisions are coordinating efforts with Prime Minister Anuthina Charnweerakul and Police Commissioner Kittirat Panpetch overseeing the case.
