Dr. Sunthon Srisuwan, an orthopedic specialist at Hatyai Hospital in Songkhla Province, shared details of a 47-year-old female patient who had been experiencing chronic lower abdominal pain for three years, along with urinary retention, abnormal discharge, and irregular menstrual symptoms. CT scans revealed a foreign object measuring 10-12 centimeters in diameter with an internal horseshoe-like structure in the reproductive tract, prompting referral to Hatyai Center Hospital.

The obstetric and gynecology team, led by Dr. Khotsit Tantinaam and Dr. Atchara Poolswat, a gynecological oncology specialist, initially planned to remove the mass through the vaginal canal. However, upon assessment, Dr. Sunthon determined the object was too large and hard to extract vaginally without risk of leaving fragments. The surgical team decided to perform an abdominal approach instead.

During surgery, the gynecological team performed a hysterectomy and partial cervical opening, while the orthopedic surgeon carefully dissected tissue around the stone-like mass to create space for extraction. The procedure was extremely delicate due to proximity to vital organs including the large intestine and kidneys. After extensive dissection and prayers, the team successfully removed the mass.

Upon examination, the mass was broken open to reveal water, mud-like material with an extremely foul odor, and internal components including acrylic-like circular objects colored green and red measuring approximately 3 centimeters in diameter, along with 11 colorful beads approximately 5 millimeters each.

The patient revealed that years earlier while living in Indonesia, an Indonesian occult practitioner forced foreign objects into her reproductive tract. The exact composition and purpose of these materials remain unclear. The surgical team made the correct decision to surgically remove the entire mass rather than attempt extraction through the vaginal canal, which would have risked leaving decomposing fragments inside the patient's body.
