Cherry Khemupsorn Takes Designer Role in Stride Without Pressure
Actress Cherry Khemupsorn debuted a sustainable fashion collection with designer brand POEM, driven by passion rather than profit expectations. The collaboration showcases her commitment to responsible consumption and environmental advocacy
Actress Cherry Khemupsorn has turned heads with her latest high-profile collaboration, joining forces with POEM to unveil a new collection. On May 15th, Cherry partnered with the fashion brand to launch the "POEM X CHERRY KHEMUPSORN" collection with the "TRÈS CHÉRIE" fashion show on the 19th floor of Gaysorn Urban Resort.
Cherry explained that this project is driven by passion rather than profit expectations. While she hopes the collection succeeds and doesn't squander the opportunity the brand has given her, she emphasizes that she's fulfilled her responsibilities completely. She acknowledged that professional fashion production requires a large, specialized team, which is why she hasn't considered launching her own brand. She continues to push forward with sustainability initiatives.
When asked how serious she is about this designer role, Cherry stated: "I don't expect myself to become a professional designer, but this mission is complete. I put intention into the design, attention to detail into everything. I hope people will see my commitment through this design and work, and that our story about sustainability through fashion will be discussed."
Asked if fashion design was a childhood dream, she explained: "Yes, I was fascinated by the fashion world as a kid, but when I became interested in environmental issues, I diverged from fashion. But coming back to look at my lifestyle, I still love fashion. It's about how we consume responsibly. This is both fun and a new challenge, and becoming a designer felt like answering that call."
Regarding potential expansion if the collection succeeds, Cherry was clear: "Probably not my own brand. I see behind the scenes that it takes a team at POEM's level to make our dreams a reality like this. I'd be dead on my own." On whether she feels pressured, she stated: "Not at all, because I'm doing what I love, what I believe in, what I see. I feel I've taken responsibility for my part. The rest isn't my responsibility." She noted that while she hopes the collection sells well out of consideration for the brand, that outcome is beyond her control. Her primary motivation is her passion for the work, not sales figures. When asked if she'll continue her environmental work, Cherry affirmed: "Yes, I'm pushing sustainability initiatives because fashion is a tangible way to reach people, and hopefully on a larger scale."
