Boom Panadda Responds Calmly to Pu Mantana's Accusations, Admits Confusion – Clarifies Military Rank Issue
Thai TV host Boom Panadda has responded diplomatically to Pu Mantana's accusations regarding her appearance on the Clear program two years ago, clarifying that she had no role in inviting guests and was confused about how Pu's lawyer came to represent her instead. Pu Mantana had claimed the show never invited her and accused Boom of lying to the public about their contact. Boom stated she has no energy to engage in further conflict, having only learned details about guests upon arrival at the studio.
Boom Panadda has responded calmly to Pu Mantana's accusations, admitting her confusion and stating that had this happened ten years ago she might have countersued, but today she simply lacks the energy to fight with anyone. She also addressed concerns about the military rank issue involved in the case.
The controversy began when Pu Mantana posted a clip criticizing Boom Panadda, the host of the Clear program, which had interviewed both parties regarding Pu Mantana's debt issues from 2567. Pu Mantana claimed Boom had commented on her private matters without consent, using language that appeared to influence public opinion.
Boom later gave an interview explaining that the show had contacted Pu Mantana, but her lawyer arrived in her place instead. Pu Mantana then fired back with an angry post, accusing Boom of lying to society and claiming that neither Boom nor the show ever invited her to appear.
When encountered by media at the opening of Implant Dental Center at The Wireless Club, Ground Floor, One Bangkok, Boom opened up about the situation.
Regarding Pu Mantana and the controversy:
"Honestly, I don't want to respond to what happened with Pu Mantana because I'm still confused about what actually occurred. The interview footage about Pu Mantana from two years ago and the format where both sides would discuss things—I had no idea that would happen. I was simply the host of the Clear program. The producer decides who to contact and who to interview on any given day—I only find out when I arrive at the studio."
"But out of professional responsibility, we interview everyone and everything—whether they're criminals, UFOs, ghosts, whatever. I interview them all. So I didn't know beforehand that the guests would be Pu's representative and lawyer Khun Pramarn. Based on my understanding, looking back two years, Pu was stressed and depressed, so we asked her lawyer, Khun Pramarn, questions, and he naturally sided with Pu."
"If Pu says we never contacted her and I didn't know why Khun Pramarn was sitting there representing her, then I'd suggest Pu sue Khun Pramarn for sitting there in her name without authorization. He answered questions until the public was dissatisfied, asking why the money wasn't returned and so on. I'd suggest Pu sue Khun Pramarn because I simply didn't know how he came to sit there in her place. If Pu didn't authorize it, Khun Pramarn had no right to sit there representing her. That's something I was completely unaware of—Pu needs to sue her lawyer."
Did you have any personal contact or conversation, or did you only see the attacks through media?
"I only saw it when suddenly there was criticism, which is why I said I'm still confused until now, because:
1. I have no responsibility for inviting guests. I have no idea who the guests are. 2. This happened two years ago, and the show format has since changed and become political. Now I can't even invite Pu because it's become too political, so I'm still confused about what happened. 3. Every show is covering this. News programs, talk shows—all of them are covering Pu's story because it's such a big issue. So I'm confused about what actually happened. And previously, I haven't touched on anything about Pu at all. Even when reading news on entertainment programs, I only read the headline because we all know how sensitive Pu's feelings are."
They said don't lie to society?
"The claim about lying to society is that we never contacted her. That's where I became confused...
