On July 7, 2025, the Thailand Headlines Person of the Year 2025 organizing committee issued a clarification statement regarding payment disputes with an event coordinator. The company said it is addressing misinformation circulating on social media that could damage its reputation and credibility.
The organizers confirmed this is the ninth consecutive year of the awards and stated they have consistently fulfilled their obligations to coordinators, business partners, and contractors with transparency and good governance. Over nine years of events, they said they have never defaulted on or avoided payments to coordinators according to agreements.
However, the company identified several performance issues with the coordinator. Most critically, the live-streaming system—a core element of the event—experienced interruptions during the broadcast, disrupting audience communication and coordination with domestic and international partners. The coordinator also failed to provide the agreed-upon workforce, forcing the company to deploy nearly 50 of its own staff members to support operations, which compromised customer service and participant care.
After the event, the company received complaints from clients and partners about service quality. It documented additional operational deficiencies in multiple areas and collected comprehensive evidence for review. These failures caused significant impact on project execution, the company's reputation, client confidence, and generated substantial additional costs for remediation, alternative operations, and damage mitigation.
Because of these issues, the company determined the project requires further verification against the coordinator agreement terms. Final project acceptance and payment authorization remain pending according to internal procedures.
