Anutin Threatens Invisible Ministers With Cabinet Removal
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul warned Cabinet ministers they risk removal if they fail to maintain public visibility and communicate their accomplishments effectively.
BANGKOK — 6 July 2026, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has warned Cabinet ministers that failing to maintain a public profile could result in losing their posts, citing poor communication as a significant issue.
At Government House on July 6, Anutin revealed he had convened a Cabinet meeting to caution ministers that those who remain largely invisible to the public face the risk of removal.
"If you're a minister the world forgets, the prime minister may forget you too. And if I forget you, there's no need for you to remain in the Cabinet," he said.
Anutin stated he had begun warning some ministers about their public visibility two weeks prior and would address the matter again in response to recent polling data.
He emphasized that while ministers were working diligently, they also needed to communicate their accomplishments to the public.
"You can't just work well without communicating. A minister must both deliver results and explain them," he said.
When asked about the timeline for assessing Cabinet performance, which has been in office for roughly two months, Anutin said it would not take long. He indicated that future Cabinet reshuffles would be determined by performance, ability, and dedication.
