Durian Trader Found Dead in Chee River
A durian trader was found dead in the Chee River in Yasothon Province after his motorcycle and shoes were discovered abandoned on the riverbank on June 30, reportedly following financial losses from a fraudulent trading deal.
On June 30, 2569, rescue unit Huk 31 Yasothon received a report from Yasothon police station about a motorcycle and men's shoes found abandoned on the banks of the Chee River in Baan Kud Khong, Muang District, Yasothon Province. Police and rescue personnel posted appeals to find the motorcycle owner, and a caller identified himself as the owner but said his older brother had last ridden the bike on the afternoon of June 29 and had not returned. The younger brother requested a diving team to search for his brother.
Shortly after, relatives reported finding a body floating on the river near where the motorcycle and shoes were discovered. According to investigation, the deceased had confided to a friend about being defrauded of approximately 30,000 baht in a durian trading transaction. This left him unable to pay his debts despite borrowing money, and he reportedly decided to end his life due to accumulated stress and pressure from multiple financial problems.
