Laos extradited 24 Thai nationals suspected of call center fraud operations back to Thailand at the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge Gate 4 in Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai Province at 3 p.m. on June 30, 2025. The group included 15 men and 9 women, ranging in age from 19 to 41 years, from various Thai provinces. Some had entered Laos using temporary travel documents. Two individuals had outstanding arrest warrants: Sarayut, 25, from Sai Khan, Don Mueang, Bangkok, faces two warrants from Phetchabun Provincial Court, and Somsak, 33, from Kosamphi District, Kamphaeng Phet Province, has a warrant from Bangkok's Southern Bangkok Court dated February 23, 2023, both charged with fraud and computer law violations.
Laos also handed over seized evidence including 11 mobile phones, 4 laptop computers, and 20 passports. Thai authorities will screen, interrogate, and investigate the suspects thoroughly, with cyber police examining links to technology-related crime networks and call center gangs. Relevant agencies will pursue legal action against those implicated in criminal activity, while potential victims will receive assistance through official state procedures.
